Need more info.........are you running headers? changed cam? What 3.1" pulley are you running?
Headers and a blower cam will lower your boost........the stock 3.4" is good for 5-5.5 lbs with stock exhaust manifolds. I've also seen some low grade pulleys that are not the actual diameter that's stamped on them. Also, have you tried another boost gauge (to make sure yours is accurate). Even with headers and a change in cam.....I think you should be making 6-6.5 lbs with a 3.1"

There are plenty of professionals here to help, no need to start a new thread. I would suspect that your cam selection along with the headers and free flowing exhaust might have some impact on your boost levels.
A few questions that I need answered:
1) Did you use the pinning kit for the balancer?
2) Where are you getting your boost readings?
3) Are you using a factory balancer or an after market "under drive" pulley?
4) Are you sure you are using the proper pulley? As stated above, some "after market" pulleys are not to exact specifications.
A 3.1 pulley on a stock 364 CI motor will yield approx 5-6 psi with the MP112, more than likely your cam/header selection is causing the boost to read lower. What you need to remember is you are still moving the same amount of air, just more efficiently. Boost is a measurement of restriction.
