I am currently peicing together a fuel system for my vette. Has anybody on this forum had any success in drilling the tank and installing a bulkhead fitting in order to run an external fuel pump (without sumping the tank)? If so, where was the bulkhead fitting installed in the tank? and I'd like to run a -10 from the tank to the pump, and then a -8 to feed the fuel rail (which will split off into -6 for each rail).
i am doing the same thing. i know c6dude has done this...hope he steps in and says where he drilled. what pump are you running. i just bought a aeromotive elimintor and one of their afpr (13101)

I've used the Aeromotive stuff before and will not use their pumps again (had one failure already). I'm going to try the Bosch 420 pump and upgrade to a second pump in the future if need be.
got to remember you are using race parts for a street car. race stuff won't last forever... but i may have to add a second pump and split my rails as well before it is all said and done
We use several Aeromotive pumps in our dyno cell and have had very good durability on them. We have used them in several customer vehicles as well. One area we have seen issues is at higher fuel pressures. For applications that might approach 80 psi total fuel pressure (so 58 psi + 20 psi of boost), we would not recommend using the Aeromotive pumps.
We saw these issues several years ago and Aeromotive may have made changes to solve these issues.

Okay don't cringe but I drilled and tapped my old C5 tank to add external or secondary pump. I tapped it a little shallow and added aircraft grade fuel tank 2-part epoxy to aid with sealing and add to rigidity. It was really on there and you could not bust it loose. Oh, don't forget to scuff up all surfaces if using 2-part epoxy for additional safety margin.
The ECS machined plate with bulkheads is a good solution, see if they will sell you plate.

We use the Aeromotive Eliminator fuel pumps on a lot of our builds. For street use I recommend using the Aeromotive fuel controller with it. Make sure your return line is large enough, too small of a return line will create extra heat. Bob
Bob, are you still using the stock fuel system when you add the Eliminator? Do you block off the stock system or run two pumps in parallel using the voltage controller to keep the heat down on the big pump? I have also heard of people running two pumps, one for backup using check valves on both systems.
