Default diagnosing a leaking BOV?

well guyz as clear as the title states, how do you diagnose a leaking bov?

I was checking out a video C6dude posted on his web that shows when a BOV gets activated even in neutral and so I did the same, except my blow of valve was opening up even during acceleration, not simply after lifting.

I am assuming this is a clear scenario of a leaking BOV, and just to remind you my set-up is a Vortech C6 Z06. What do you guys recommend? I could try another BOV soon, but what could I do at the moment? Is it easy to tighten up that thing and prevent it from leaking?

Also, should the car feel much different after this gets fixed?

What brand of BOV are you using? If the internal spring is too soft for the boost level you are running, the pressure acting on the inlet side of the BOV will overtake the combination of spring tension and positive pressure trying to push down on the valve from the small vacuum hose, almost creating a "pop off valve" type scenario and feel like you just hit the brakes during acceleration. Most companies make an adjustable valve of some sort. Unfortunately most of them limit the travel of the piston in conjunction with the vent port/s by having you turn a set screw on the top which compresses the spring from it's top mount, decreasing piston travel. Be aware of horsepower levels and airflow requirements of the valves you are using. One of the reasons we typically stick with Forge Motorsport and Tial valves on cars we are building. Hope that helps.

well, I am running the BOV that came with the vortech kit. Also I did not understand most of what you said, sounds like chinease to me lol.

My boost levels are very low, about sub 5PSI. I dont get that feeling that someone hit the brakes during acceleration, however I also dont hear the BOV dumping excess air after I lift, that's because its already open.

There MUST be a way for me to adjust this blow off valve, I will look on how to make it a little tighter and thus it should not open like that during acceleration, just when the pressure gets high enough. Its going to be a trial and error scenario though!

any suggestions?
