Default Question About Windshield Washer Fluid for Meth Injection

If you are running ww fluid in your meth injection....what brand are you using. Every brand I've looked at says "contains methanol and water" or "ethyl alcohol and water"....no ratios. I assume a 50/50 mix would be better.........how do you know?
I guess straight methanol would be the best, but I am not going to use the meth injection to crank the timing back up. I would just like to cool the intake charge and maybe advance the timing a little.

Thanks

I use yellow bottle HEET (Gasline anti-freeze 99% meth.) mixed with distilled water for an Aquamist W/I setup. My local Walmart sells HEET for 97 cents.

Hey Perry,

On the Aquamist 1s setup for my MBZ I stick with a 50/50 mix due to the nylon seals (I had to replace 3 times within 2 years of usage), Richard Lamb of Aquamist does not recommend more than a 50% meth. mix...well sometimes I cheated a bit. The HEET stuff is so inexpensive and readily available at Walmart, it's hard not to refuse buying a bundle. LOL

On the Vette (AlkyControl kit) setup, I currently use VP Racing's M1 with good results....and previously, I was using the SLX Denatured Alcohol found at Home Depot or Lowes; I switched when I found that it only had 45-50% meth. - http://www.wmbarr.com/msds/GSL26.pdf

best results by far, but you have to have a kit that can take it.

Steve, does this mean You have the Meth kit up and running,or are You just cheking things out?!
Also,I've looked into this as well, and it seems like 100% Meth is the way to go,but with the "boost levels" that You and I are running{6.5-7.5 lbs}I'm not sure We need Meth right now!
Everyone's opinions would also be helpfull!!

I'm also looking into a meth kit within the next month. Local guys are pointing me towards the CoolingMist kit. I'd probably mount the pump up front and us the washer tank....

Well...............after further review, I'm leaning towards not adding a meth kit to my car. I was just about to pull the trigger, but after talking to 2 different tuners (whom I trust) and a couple of people running meth injection........I was told: since I was only looking for the cooling effect, I was not interested in squeezing every bit of power out of the car and for my boost levels it would not be worth the hassle......I was also told of the differences in the tune and how the car would run if the injection was not flowing. I know it has its advantages, especially with higher boost levels, but I don't think it's worth the hassle for me. I know of other people on the fence about the kits...........pls keep the opinions coming.

Sorry................

Good luck with your gears......I would like to do it, but I think it will make the traction problem worse.

That statement is only true if you don't tune for it.
any boosted application will pick up at atleast 15rwhp. (more like 30ish, even with your needs)
meth does not give you the HP increase. the timing does. also, you reduce act's to just over ambient on most street cars (additional protection against knock)..
just don't loose the vac line going to the controller

you still would tune for it, just don't take it to the edge.
