Default FAST questions

I'm currently running the Typhone aluminum intake on my FI C6. For the 3rd time in 400 miles, I've had an intake gasket failure. I guess the 5-6 psi is just too much for the gaskets to withstand. Anyway, I'm thinking about switching to the FAST manifold, and I was wondering if (1) they have redesigned it so a firewall modification is no longer required, and (2) if it is still required, how much is involved. Prehaps I should just reconsider and get a stock ported manifold? Comments..... ? Thanks.

I'm currently using a stock ported unit and was considering doing the FAST as well. The manifold has not been redesigned, so yes, you still have to cut the firewall. It's not TOO much work, MTI in houston quoted me $200 for the install. If you did your own procharger install, this should be a piece of cake!! Instructions for the installation and cutting of the firewall are on lingenfelter website, if you'd like to get an idea of whats involved. Look under "Lingenfelter C6 corvette firewall modification kit for Fast intake"
