Default Best H/C Package for APS TT C6 Kit

Im going to be purchasing a C6 in the very near future. I want to get the mods done to the car as soon as possible. I very used to driving high hp cars and I would like the new vette to be the same. Also with the h/c package will i be maxing out the stock motor?

Go with a 317 casting head, and leave the cam alone. You will be limited by the cast pistons in there more than anything. The 317 heads will have a larger combustion chamber which will lower your compression ratio, which will enable you to run more boost.

What is your HP goal, because there is much more you can do...

I would like the car to have 7-800 and drive it daily, what kind of power are these guys making on pump. What is the 317 head? Who makes it? What is the weak point in these LS2 motors?

317 is the LQ9 truck head, larger chambers for lower compression to safeguard FI motors from detonation. Good suggestion. As far as 7-800 HP on a stock internals, that would be pushing it. We see 500-600 without problem, but above that we like to purpose build the engine for the power & boost.

Would it be better to just buy the AFR 225 head? With the larger head chambers to lower the compression. Im not afraid to go into the motor, Im just trying to figure out what the best setup will be for a tt setup.

Go with the 317's. They are under $800 set new bare, or used for 1/2 that. Some porting & the right springs and they are great.

Im guessing the 317s are a factory chevy head? Where is the best place to buy them? Is there a board member on this site that gives discounts on all gm products? I just saw that you are from REV Extreme, Ive been to your shop a few times. I used to go to Tampa alot and I was with Coastal Dyno all the time. I think I went over to your shop for some dyno days a while back. nice shop.

Give Al at LAPD (forum vendor) a call, they have done a fair share of APS TT H/C stock cubes and larger on various setups; M6, A4 and A6. Also, try PM'ing fourm member Phate (Scott); his current setup consist of a custom LAPD turbo cam and WCCH heads on stock cubes. I have the same if not similar WCCH Stage II heads; 71cc with 9.8:1 static compression.

Gene Culley has about the best prices around, he is a Forum vendor. We moved the shop 1 1/2 years ago to a bigger facility...12,000sq ft, 16 bays, 7 lifts, enclosed inground climate controlled dyno, etc. Stop in and see it now!

What kind of numbers are you guys putting down? You still on the stock motor? Def would be a manual car. What are WCCH heads?

Give us a call and ask for Al. He has set-up a good number of C6s that also have the APS TT system and the results are amazing!

Once you talk to Al, you'll be glad you did! He is a great source of information.

Go with A lower comp head patriot 9.8:1 are cheap and a little turbo cam are a great combo.

My friend had this combo on otherwise stock LS2 w the GTO APS 28 kit he made 712/762 with 15 psi but remember smaller turbos and better pipeing.

He has since gone to a larger forged motor and I think his old combo may be for sale.

I just talked to him he wants 1200 + shipping for all of it:

Stage 2 patriot heads 9.8:1 202 160 done with good springs etc
Turbo Cam and Hardened pushrods

PM me if interested
