Default Lowered / ProCharged folks........

My car is lowered as far as it will go on the stock bolts-no cut bushings....never had a problem before the blower install. After the D1 was installed the front air dam (the black skirt piece) dragged everywhere. I could apply the brakes fairly agressively and the front air dam would rub.....any change at all in road height and it rubs......every driveway it rubs. So, I came home today and trimmed almost an inch off the air dam and backed off the front bolts 5 turns.....we'll see if that helps. I can't believe that the weight of the kit would make that much of a difference?? I think it dropped it an additional 1/2 inch or more?

Any of you guys experience something similar after your blower install??

Here's one for you: car is lowered using WCC lowering kit. Air dam dragged before the D1SC. After the D1SC install there was even greater scraping. Turns out the connecting elbow between the intercooler and the blower was rubbing. Pushed it higher into the connecting sleve and still scrapped due to the lowering, but not by the SC.

it isnt the added lbs it is that the rad bracket is lowered which is what the front clip mounts to. so the bottom of the bumper is forced down. car isn't lower just the valance. cutting is what most do i just deal with the scrapping. slow over bumps . on really crowned roads or HARD on the brakes i am scrapping.

*Ding, Ding* we have a winner . Ok, that makes sense.....I knew there was no way that the additional weight was the culprit. Appreciate your input.....I should be fine now that I've trimmed it

Busa,
Most of us trimmed it in half, right where the moulding line is...Makes it easy to follow as well...

Default Does the lower dam force more air in?

I left mine as is and don't let the rubber scrapping bother me. I think having it lower helps push more air into the intercooler and radiators. What do you guys think? Anyone noticed any difference after trimming? My 2005 is at stock height and not lowered at all. If it was, I would have to trim to get in and out of my driveway without dragging the bumper or metal supports.

The horrible scraping makes me slow down on bad roads , its like having my wife in the car 24/7 - But it is the radiator bracket , when I got mine installed I thought the same thing but its not the weight .

Heh i had my center dam piece completely ripped off, day taking the car home, and that was before i dropped it all the way on stock bolts. I still ride with full drop and every now an then ill hear the two side damn pieces scrape, but dont care aslong as i dont hear the metal skid frame plates doing that all is good in my book.

I cut the lower rad mounts off and welded them 1.5 lower. Bam, no more scraping.

Default My solution

I had the bolt on little wheels installed up there and it still rubs on the pavement of the uneven roads. I just put the radio up and sing to the music or just enjoy the sound of my F1A procharger singing to me.

hmmm. My car is pretty low and I harly ever scrape. However, I anticipated lowering my car when I purchased my wheel / tire combo and purposely selected taller tires. 345/30-19 and 275/35-19 to effectively raise the ride height. My new combo has 265/35-18's. Although I have yet to drive the car with the new wheels, I have a feeling that I am going to scrape a lot more.
