"Heads or tails"
First off, thinking about doing heads and a cam.
Second, wanted to ask my fellow vette owners about what Their opinions were.
What type,AFR,Trick,Lingenfelter,or a hand ported one from companys such as Motorsport Tech!
I have a Maggie 112{sorry about the Maggie 1k, but You can answer as well!} and 1 7/8 headers.
I want the increase of power to be all thru the rpm's.
Thanks Boys,
I have been told to just port the stock LS2 heads. I have heard it is well worth it.
As far as a cam, I was told to use this cam...214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA. It is a great "Sleeper Blower" cam. When I get my 402 finished, it will have that cam in it. It is from Thunder Racing, a supporting vendor.
Good luck on the quest for more power. I am already for more, just need some traction!!

I don't think you can go wrong with LPE stuff. But AFR heads seem popular in So Cal so lots of folks have experience with them.
Hell, since your gonna take all that stuff out, just take out the whole damn thing and get a completely forged motor. You know you'll want more later - and when KB comes out with their blower, you can pull that Maggie thing off and run serious boost with an engine that can handle it.

That sould keep you happy until the C7 comes out.
Your right, but I should've mentioned mine is an A6,and I'll probably break the tranny with too much more RWHP!!
I have Procharger D1SC. Have AFR225 heads and a 224/230 581/592 LSA 114 cam. Also have dynatech 1 7/8 headers and corsa sports. Putting out 586rwhp 506rwtq. It is a mn6.
Your limiting factor will be the automatic trans.
If you are not willing to upgrade the trans,
you might want to remain at the power level that you are at and enjoy the STRONG performance you already have.
As far as adding power:
The next mod should be a forged bottom end.
Not only for the extra power,
but for the peace of mind as well.
You will be able to add stroke with the rebuild and wind up with a 402ci.
You might want to reach out to "Funcool".
I believe he is running a Maggie with a 402ci.
I don't want to get too crazy with rebuilding blocks and transmissions,
thats why I bought a manual C6 and support turbos so much.
600/600 to the wheels with a TT on a stock block and trans is hard to beat.
I will concede that a Maggie has it's place when added to a stock car when no other options are available.
But once you have a forged bottom end,
turbos and centrifugals will really shine.
It's never too late to sell what you have and upgrade.
Nice reply 1k...informative without the maggie bashing (almost). I have to agree with 1k: the A6 will be your limiting factor and FUNCOOL is the person you need to talk to. You could safely make another pulley change (I think you're around 6lbs if I remember correctly)....anything else and I think it's only a matter of time before your A6 lets go.

Almost?
There was no Maggie bashing in this thread!
But, since you brought it up:
Once you turn up the boost on the Maggie,
it's poor efficieny get's even worse.
That's why I've been recommending TT's all this time.
TT's are most efficient power available for a stock longblock for the streets,
and they offer efficient expandability for future plans or future owners.
I might be an a$$hole sometimes,
but you all are going to come to the same conclusion that I have sooner or later.
