Default C6 Magnacharger Pulley?

Does The C6 Intercooled Magnacharger Kit Have An Upgraded Pulley Available To Up The Amount Of Boost It Puts Out? I Recently Purchased Tony's From Ls1 Tech.com 2005 Crovette, And The Magnacharger Is Set Up For 5 Psi Of Boost, And I Didn't Know If There Is A Smaller Pulley Available To Up The Psi Of Boost. Also, What Is A Safe Amount Of Boost To Run On The C6's Without Having To Worry About Blowing Up The Motor?

You can go with the 3.2" (6-7 lbs) or the 2.9" (8-9 lbs). I would not go over 7 lbs on the stock bottom end, but I like to be safe. I know there are some running higher levels on the 112, but I have seen problems at 9+.

Go with a 3.2" pulley Ron, it should add another 35+ rwhp to the combo. But, after a test drive once you get the car you might feel it isn't needed, haha.

Hey Tony,I put a 3.2 on mine about 2 months ago,and I'm just barely making 6lbs of boost!
I don't know why,maybe the headers has something to do with that!
I'm also thinking of doing H/C in a few months,and that might even lower my compression so maybe an even smaller pulley is in order?
Whats Your 2 cents!!
Thanks,George
PS,the H/C package I might get from Motorsport Tech.{MTI}
They will send thier stage 2 heads and custom grind blower cam,with some Jessel rockers!

You can get one from Reichard Racing. 410-610-5567
They make a 3.2 or 3.0 or any size you need. About $150.

I think the GTO kits are designed to run at 8psi out of the box...not sure why the vette kits are designed to run less....if in fact they are. I'm aiming to get mine back up to 8psi. With blower cam, and full exhaust on stock GTO pulley config I'm just barely making 6psi.

I had the same questions a few weeks ago. Here's Gene's response :

"The Maggie 122 comes with a 3.6 pulley so when you change to a 3.2 you will need a belt that is 3/4" shorter. I have had no problems with the pulley or belt dust"...... Gene Gorman

Yo George, what belt did you say you use? And is that true (3/4" shorter) for the 112 Maggie also? Or just for the 122 Maggie.

The Magnacharger kits come with the belt. If your change your pulley size by anything significant (ie 3.4 down to 3.0)... you will need a smaller belt.

The Maggie comes with a 3.4 pulley from Factory!
I have a 3.0 which is about .5 inches smaller than 3.4 pulley.
Original belt size is 140.5 inches,so I went with the next size down which is a 139.75 inch belt!{Goodyear Gatorback}
I'd rather be a little "snug" than loose!

No problem. I actually was OK with the supplied belt when I went from the 3.4 pulley to the 3.2. I ended up ordering a second belt that was shorter however as I felt a little more secure with a smaller belt. Additionally, this belt was tight enough that it should be good for a 2.9 or 3.0 pulley as well.

what is the measurement of
the diameter of the shaft that the pulley is secured by? Magnachargers have 2 different shaft sizes, 5.8" & 3.4"
P.S: Pulley size is 3.4".

I'm running a 2.9 from a GTO maggie with 9.5 lb's of boost.
Tuning is a must for that much boost. 532 rwhp after they back the timing down 3 degree's. Sideway's in 3rd at 60 mph will scare the crap out of your friends. The whine is a lot louder at max boost and thats
when the tires brake loose.

Oh, i got the pulley from ls1gto.com board for $50 bucks, used.
you will have to grind down the front of the housing a little.
