I have an 06 A6 Vert with LG long headers and Calloway DD exhaust. I am in the process of trying to install gears and 100 wet shot of nitrous. I am unsure of the reliability of a tune with these gears (I have not read or seen anyone familiar with automatics). I'm toying with the idea of dropping the gears, and adding a procharger with the nitrous to keep it cool. No other mods. Am I throwing away cash here? Any ideas or recommendations? I just want out of the hole on the street with only occasional (monthly) track appearances.
Help?
Mark,
One piece of advice... Go with a "Dry" kit vs. wet... "Dry" is the only way to go up to a 200hp shot...There are several posts on here by myself and others that have some great info. either search my posts or "Myhardtop" for his posts...

Are you on the stock bottom end? If you are, I wouldn't do a 100 shot of nitrous with the addition of an ATI ProCharger. A very small shot of nitrous will make a very dramatic difference with an ATI ProCharger, as the inlet air temps will drop substantially. A 100 shot would most likely take out your number seven piston. Bob
I did the Procharger running 6psi, headers and a 50 dry shot on the stock bottom end all last year. No problems. A 50 shot with the S/C is very dramatic and enough. With BFG D/R's I was able to run 10.8 - 10.9 all day long. I put 1 - 5lb bottle in each of the rear compartments. Hid the lines and sprayed into the intake of the S/C in front of the motor ffrom underneath. Works like a charm andno one will suspect you have the N2O since you haave the S/C. 535 RWHP and 497 RWTQ.

Thanks Chris.
You can run that on a dry OR a wet kit. Its not really advised unless your good at tuning the actual N2o kit. What happens is there are at times distribution problems of the n2o not going evenly into each cylinder. Once you start spraying over a certain amount its best to go with a direct port setup to ensure that every cylinder is getting what its suppose to.
If your not running maf then you need to tune for it when tuning for SD. I personally wouldnt do an SD tune. I know there are benefits of it but its too much work for me.
