Default APS twin turbo guys check in and vote.

Just wanted to get everyone's input on this particular topic. I don't think it has been discussed before and thought it would be good to discuss.

If possible, state why. I'm mainly trying to learn what everyone's opinion is.

Martin, I'm using conventional oil for the first 5K miles on my new motor and changing oil at 800-1K miles. After 5K miles I'm switching to synthetic and plan on an oil change at 2.5K-3K intervals, perhaps less with some track usage.

Good thread, I'm curious to hear what others recommend.

The logic behind changing it so frequently is that after spending all the money on the car and the setup and all the supporting pieces, is thirty bucks every 1500 miles instead of 3000 really going to break the bank, even if it does next to nothing? Why risk it, even if its next to no risk, when its almost pocket change?

2,500-3,000

But sometimes I go over a little, so no more than 3,500.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I guess there's not many TTs out there. I just came back from changing the oil with less then 2000 miles on it. The first after the install. a good friend of mine helped.

I just voted for 2k, but was amazed at what the poll results are right now. The oil looked almost new and will probably take a sample to a lab and find out some diagnostics of it.

I know it is not the APS but I just picked up a new Porsche 997S and the first oil change is shown to be 20K..... Not sure I am going to wait that long but it makes you wonder....
