Default What solutions are available to make the A4 tranny bulletproof?

I'm closing in on pulling the trigger on the turbo kit and with the boost restriction because of the A4 transmission I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and reinforce it before I have the TT kit installed? How much horsepower am I leaving on the table? Will the stock shortblock really hold that much more power? I plan on really driving this car hard on the road course for short stints due to overheating issues. What options are available fore me?

Depending on your power levels, the stock transmission probably won't last long. Give us a call. We can build you a transmission that will handle the power.

Since you have the car apart for the TT kit, you sould definately have the trans done now. You cannot find a better shop for transmission work then RPM, I think all on this board would agree that Todd and Rodney will take extremely good care of you. I use them for all of my transmission needs, and highly recommend them.

From the research I've done so far RPM would be getting my first call. So are we talking $2500 ballpark for a fully built A4?

Also is it possible to change the individual gears? Like have smaller 4th? What hp levels will it hold?

We don't have any different gearsets for the automatics. They're not quite $2500, but close for a Level V. Pricing is on the website. We rate the Level IV transmissions to 600 RWHP and the Level V takes over from there.
