Default 2007 LS2/A6 C6 Corvette DTE/APS Power Figures

We've just completed another 2007 LS2/A6 C6 Corvette for a local "kenw" on this board and the results are very good as we've come to expect. This car has full high-flow catalysts, stock diameter exhaust pipes, 93 octane pump fuel, a cat-back system of some kind the car came with when it arrived here, set up with 7 psi. intake port pressure and 26 MPG @ 65 MPH cruise. This application is also equipped with our new 3.15 HD Stage II differential, which makes the car a real thrill to drive on the street! Overall, we're very pleased and the car is a real sleeper to drive with stock-like driving attributes in every way. Ken is going to have some *FUN* real soon!! Congrat's Ken and thanks!

Best Regards,
DTE

Nice job DTE and congrats to the owner, turbo power is great fun. Stock diameter pipes have to go tho, a full 3" exhaust (ala APS) is the ticket...lose the backpressure and let those turbos breathe.

We're aware of that; however, our moderate power levels of 500/500 RWP was our target for these A6-equipped cars to preserve the transmission long-term. Had the exhaust pipe diameter been a hinderance to the power levels we wanted to acheive using only 7 psi, than we would have opted for the larger exhaust, however, that isn't the case here, nor was it the case for the 550+ RWP C6 Corvette that we went 10's with this past Summer at only 9 psi. using the very same configuration.

Bigger isn't always better in some cases, especially when sharper PCM/TCM calibration refinements pay the same or bigger dividends in power, with less invested.

Default kenw---Can't wait to get my car.

Trying to find a hole in the bad weather to go to Dynotech and make it back to Va. It has been great working with Phil, Jenny, Tim and the other guys at Dynotech. Will let you know "forum friends" my impressions as soon as I get my car. A few things to clarify--my car is a 06 not 07 and has around 16,000 miles. The exhaust is Bassani and was installed a Corvettes at Carlisle. Thanks Phil hope to see you soon.

Great report. I'm thinking of doing something similar with my '07 A6 but have been a little concerned about the A6 being able to handle 500+ hp. Let us know how you like the sound of the exhaust with the turbos.

Do You Guys at DTE think an A6 tranny will support 540rwhp?

Thanks!

Wow so jealous. You know what I find interesting is the torque curve at 500 so early. Looks like the sweet spot for acceleration is between 3500 to 5500 so you wouldn't have to rev it to death to be in the power area.

I like the 2.5 inch exhaust idea. Especially when you're limited to 500rwtq you might as well have the stealthy exhaust IMHO.

So what's the solution for the weak link being the tranny?

Ooops, sorry Ken and thanks for the clarification of the exhaust and model year. Too many cars in here to keep track of..

No, not for long- that's why we limit our cars to 500/500.

Of course it does, as does all our car's we build here- however, with this kind of power output, (as with any other power adder of any type) one simply can't put the traction control on and stomp the pedal to the floor, expecting the car to drive forward without a chirp. Having a car with this much power requires the owner and driver to re-learn how to drive it accordingly to maximize the performance of the vehicle overall.

You could, but then you'd be walking shortly after....

The exhaust note is the same as it was when the car was stock, with the exception of a "whooshing sound" as the turbos come online.
