Default FI C6 -or- Modded Z06?

I know this may be bias in this section, but honestly which one would you prefer as your street weapon?

575-600rwhp FI C6 -or- 525-550rwhp Z06 w/ cam/headers/intake/tune

Assuming both are 6 speeds with upgraded clutch.
Assuming both are running drag radials or maybe even some hoosier R6's.
Assuming both cost the same (we know they don't) for arguments sake.

You can have you chioce of FI system.

Which car would you prefer for you nice day driving and possible encounters with other fast cars on the street? Which one would be faster on the street? Which would be faster in the 1/4?

I love the Z, but it's not worth 22K more to me.

Honestly, either way is great. Also, the average person is probably not going to notice the 50 hp difference driving around on the street.

What if you were to also throw in a Z06 body and wheel conversion on the C6? Now you have performance and looks on both?

thats exactly what i did with my 07 coupe, although im getting head/cam + bolt ons

you can build a widebody C6 TT with Z brakes/suspension/wheels/tires for about 65k

a similar powerd Z would cost you about 85-90k

I'd go with a FI C6 Z51, which is exactly what I'm going to do.

Z51 coupe with a TT. (APS or TTi-X)

MORE power for LESS money, Targa top, much lower total cost, etc.

A lot of guys are swapping the wheels and brakes on the Z anyway.
If that's a concern for you,
some chromed CCW 505a's with NON-runfalts and and a Stoptech brake kit will have you right there with the Z on a road course.

FI/Z51 and I did it my way for less than a stock Z06
I love the looks of the Z06 but the front just does nothing!

The front scoop is just for looks and the front fenders are for wider tires. I just did the rear on my Z51 to fit my 19X13 rims with 345 Mich /Pilot tires and just love the looks of it.

If you want to do modds I would get the Z51 and enjoy working with it.
If you want a performer, looker right out of the show room floor get the Z06 and you will love it .
When I test drove the Z06 I was like "this is it". I can buy this and not have to do anything to it!
Then I was like "no you can not leave anything alone" and knew I would be doing something to it some how. So I bought the Z51

if you've got the mod itch...this is a no brainer, go to town and mod a C6. You'll get to that level of power alot cheaper and you can always say in the end that "I did it my way..."

want a factory freak with full factory warranty, no ambition to mod? Z06 all the way. But I will say, the Z06 does react quite well to a tune and headers. I guess even with less, just a filter and tune has gotten some real close to 480rwhp. And it's quickly re-turnable to 100% stock in a "pinch". lol

very true. the Z responds well to mods. the C6 TT is a very attractive route as well but in the end, i decided not to hack up the car that much though turbo cars sure are a lot of fun.

After today, I am a firm believer in the F.I. C6.

The Z06 is a great collectors car that can be made very fast. In the end, we will ALL end up spending more on our F.I. C6's then what a Z06 goes for. I'm almost there, and I just started down the road!!!

OK, but which one will have the better perofmance? Or will they be equal, considering the Z06 weighs less, plus no extra weight from a FI system?
