Default Corvette (C6) dealers in Maryland...

If I'm wrong for posting this (due to partnerships) please let me know. I live in MD and I contacted a dealership that is/will be taking orders for the C6 at MSRP. How does the Corvetteforum.com and dealership partnership work? How many forum members live in MD and would rather purchase intra-state versus inter-state? Anyway, I've been in contact with a salesman there and he is suppose to get back to me with ordering particulars.

**info edited pending decision**

Oh, yea, I know about them. I had a deposit on the 350Z months before they came out and their customer service SUCKS!!! Most of the sales people just stand around even when you appear to have questions. Are you getting a C6? If so, maybe you and I can negotiate a small discount from the dealer I listed in my previous post. Let me know.

Default Criswell in Gaithersburg

I have a C6 coupe on order at Criswell. I agreed to MSRP. I think Criswell gets the largest Corvette allocation in MD. Chevrolet has not accepted my order yet but I hope that will happen between July 15th and August 1st. So far I think Criswell has been a good dealer to work with.

I purchased my C5 at Sport in Silver Spring. I would have ordered through them again but they wanted a $1000 deposit and Criswell
$500. I didn't see why I should pay the $1000 when a dealer with a larger allocation was willing to accept $500. I did get a good price on my C5 from Sport. I purchased a 1999, so they were willing to discount
off of MSRP.

Just FYI from Rick Daniels web page.

Default Criswell>>>who was your sales person?

All the northern Va. dealers want $10K over MSRP which I dutifully inform them to take a walk ..typical arrogance from around here.

Tim Mauro is the sales rep Criswell I am ordering from. I think he is now a sales manager as well. So far the verbal agreement has been MSRP. He also states this on his web site at:

www.timmaurocorvettes.com

My order from Criswell was accepted by Chevrolet today. Hopefully they will hold to MSRP. I can't afford a premium above that.

I checked again with Sport and was told that they were going to be asking for a $8000 to $1000 ADM, which is apparently an "additional dealer markup". So I have to retract that recommendation.

You have an accepted order but did not place a deposit? I assume you didn't place a deposit because if you had, the reciept would specify the remaining balance due upon delivery.

I did place a deposit of $500. This was done in late April before pricing was released. Once pricing was released I knew what the balance owed would be. The order was just accepted today and I have received nothing from Criswell showing the total cost of the car, taxes, tags, less deposit for a balance due. I expect that they will hold to MSRP. But without something in writing I can't state that they will.

That should have been $8,000 to $10,000.

That appears to be an excellent buy. Did you get that just for the asking?

I shopped my 04 after a bad experience with one of the bigger forum dealers. Found what I wanted and made an offer bassed on forum prices. Bought the car in 5 minutes and it was 100% customer satisifaction. Good dealer to work with.

They sold me the new 2004 for the wife and I told them that I wanted an 05 at that price ... no problem they said.

RATS ... So .... I screwed up. Probably could have gotten 4K off on the deal, but I did get their first car. Should be here shortly. TPW is 8/2.

They are a nice "small" dealer with about 10-15 Vettes a year. I know they have allocation and I am almost sure you can buy at or below MSRP. E-mail if you need names.

Thanks for the offer. I am going to stay with what I have. Chevrolet has accepted my order and I am wating on a TPW in maybe 2 weeks. I am too far into the process to cancel without delaying delivery until
the 4th quarter. I should have negotiated better. Lesson learned.

You made a great deal on the C6. Enjoy.

Better to stay with your deal at this late stage.

But, I Just talked to my guy and he said he has two more allocated in August. They can be ordered to specification and he will be at MSRP less 1K .... plus a full tank of gas! I am trying to get one for a friend now. I assume these will be late September cars.

ok, well...i got my vette there right off the showroom floor and got it home to find all 4 wheels had scratches in the clearcoat. to which jim and the rest of the jba management tried to tell me that i did it or it was vandelized in my garage. it was a nightmare, and i will never buy from them again. my salesman knew nothing about corvettes because their usual salesman was helping a customer with another model of car.

after taking it up with the regional rep, i was able to get some satisfaction, but in the end i dont think it made up for the buying experience that i got with them on my 1st vette.

bought a escalade this past weekend that was very close to the same price, and they bent over backwards for me and was treated with respect at all times. they are also a chevy dealer, so i will go back there to buy a c6 when the time comes.

glad you had a good experience there...but i did not.

Interesting... the co-owner (Matt ) of JBA Chevrolet lives a couple doors down from me in Crownsville, MD. I'll have to walk over there and ask him about this one.
