thanks!!. That was the eBay car I was mentioning… it’s since expired with no bids at 70k. I wish the recent SSB car on BAT didn’t have the stories and oddities that it carries. It’s local to me but more than I’m willing to go for that particular car.
ive spoke to the California owner. Definitely considering it. If the heads were done I’d probably have already pulled the trigger…. Have another iron in the fire. Should make a decision soon

It had a ping pong ball sized chunk broken from the lower edge of the cradle and for some reason had the ZR1/Z07 specific an arms replaced with base Z06 parts. (Slightly different design and no tapped hole for the cooling deflector that came on Z07/ZR1 cars) It is pretty well known in the Carbon community that it was tracked as well. Something happened and being that carbons are a top of the market car it was more than I wanted to accept

I could… but the Z07s I’ve seen listed are within a stones throw of a Carbon. The extra bits that came with the Carbon package, to me are worth the juice.
the black Z07 listed here appears to be a great deal…. But not quite good enough to jump in that direction

What "extra bits" are you referring to on the Carbon car; the hood (available on 2012 and 2013 Z07's), the door sill Carbon plates and decals (only on the Carbon), the Alcantara interior (available on the 2012 and 2013 Z07's)? Everything else on the Carbon's and Z07's mechanically, suspension and aero are identical.

Are there any B92 hood Z07 cars currently available? Those are rarer than the carbon cars. I want greatly prefer IO so why not buy a individually serialized one stop shop Carbon

A side note on the hoods. I put a ZR1 hood with the window in it (otherwise identical to the B92 carbon hood) on my IO 2011 Z07. Had the raised area on that hood painted black to match the optional black headlight trim and the black roof that came with my Z07. It really looks sharp in my opinion and with a little tweaking of the engine (removing the factory coil covers or in my case replacing them with carbon fiber lookalikes) it provides for very interesting conversation at car shows.
I am in the midst of converting a 2010 CR Z06 to full ZR1 specs with hood, CC brakes, etc, but retaining a tweaked LS7 motor. It already came to me with the ZR1 roof installed. The best of all worlds in my opinion. For what it is worth I weighed the ZR1 rotors and brakes compared to stock Z06 ones. They remove 25 pounds of rotating mass on the front wheels and 8 on the rears. The front ZR1 calipers were 10.4 pounds vs 10 pounds for the Z06 ones so virtually all the difference was in the rotors. Once done I don't think I'll run into anything else quite like it. Haven't yet decided on how much horsepower I'll settle on. Might stay mild at 600 engine HP to keep drivability very close to stock. Already has a set of Trick Flow heads and a few other goodies.
By the way tickets are now available for the Indy Airstrip Attack Half Mile in early August.

Too-Fast, I agree with you but don't forget the unique end of the VIN number. My Carbon ends with 000010. They are all numbered like that ending in 1 to 252. Does nothing for performance but I do get a kick out of it.
