SOLD - 2008 Crystal Red Metallic 2LT Base Coupe M6 - Cam & Headers - $28K
Vehicle is SOLD
I am the original owner of the vehicle. Picked it up from the Corvette Museum back in Sept of 2007. It has always been garaged. It currently has just over 50k miles, BTR stage 3 cam, McLeod RST twin clutch, American Racing Headers w/ high flow cats, Halltech intake, B&M short shifter, Z51 Sways, and Bilstein HD shocks. Radio has been replaced with a Pioneer MVH-300EX (still have stock radio/cd changer). Engine has been completely rebuilt (less than 1K miles since rebuild). Car runs great!
Why an engine rebuild you might ask...Long story short, Juiced Motorsports botched a cam install (cam bolts backed out on drive from their shop to my home in Ohio). They never responded to my email or returned a phone call about the issue, so rather than deal with them again, I had the engine looked at by TK Performance in Dayton, Ohio. The damage was enough to warrant a rebuild. The rebuild was accomplished in June of 2021 and consisted of the following:
- McLeod clutch kit and flywheel
- Cam Kit: BTR stage 3, lifters, pushrods, head gaskets, head bolts, oil pump, and gasket set
- Complete valve job
- Machine work: Engine bore and line hone, all new bearings, rods, and pistons and rings
I have the invoice for the work accomplished on the engine ($10K of parts & labor).
For full disclosure there are a few items to highlight:
- The car will randomly throw a 'service electrical system' error once in awhile. Hitting the reset button clears the issue and nothing has come of it.
- Small paint chip on front edge of hood
- Both right wheels have a little bit of curb rash
- Tires will likely need to be replaced - plenty of tread left but the tires are at the 10 year mark (always garaged though)
- Car has a clear bra on front fascia but has some scuff marks and probably will need to be replaced. Had it on since 2009 and it has done its job
Vehicle is located in the Dayton, OH area. Sad to be selling the car but the wife and I are moving and looking to pay off a couple of other vehicles in order to free up cash.
