Default Opinions needed

I know, I know...opinions are like a-holes....

I am in the market for another Z and have narrowed it down to two. I'm curious on the collective opinion of the better buy and better resale down the road.

07 Silver 13k miles H/C/I, injectors, kooks, corsa, etc. 44k

09 Cyber grey, 41k miles, stock aside from powder coated wheels. 40k

I really prefer the Cyber Grey color, it's 2yrs newer, and 4k less. On the other hand, the 07 is immaculate, modded with all the right components, but not a huge fan of silver and 4k more.

Thoughts on better buy and better future resale?

07 isn't smog legal in Ca..... But the 09 still has the stock heads, and as we all know the z's heads are an issue ....

That 07 would be sweet if you could rock that in Cali.

Just trying to determine if it's worth the extra cost in the current market. There's no doubt much more than that was spent.

Stock will most likely make it easier for you to sell, along with the 09 having bluetooth.

edit: Also mods don't really add value to the vehicle, pennies on the dollar at most.

my opinion is there are better deals out there, if you are in no hurry to buy then keep looking till something sweet pops up for sale, im looking for another one as well, so far i passed on 3 of them, the right car will come to you.

You're absolutely right....I've never had such a hard time finding a car, and I've bought and sold 25+ over the years. Good luck on your search as well.

Not trying to be disrespectful to you Teiken but, you don't know what you are talking about. H/C/I C6Z's consistently sell for thousands more than stock Z's.

Even a close to stock Z with the heads fixed will command more money. The heads are a known and bad problem that can cause a motor to blow on these cars. Having them fixed costs 2-3K.

If the car simply has a cold air intake, or even full exhaust, or some interior upgrades, I would 100% agree with you.

To the OP, I'd try and talk the 07 price down some...you should be able to. Also, for those talking about a better oiling system and tranny in the 09...yes that's true. However, unless you plan on tracking the car...then those things don't matter. Also, the 07 only has 13K miles on it and, you will end up spending 2-3k or more getting the heads addressed on the 09. So, the cost of both cars will be pretty close to the same anyway.

If the 07 has documentation of the heads getting fixed and the rest of the mods...then I think it's a no brainer!

Show me where, and I'm not talking about the sellers that still have their cars sitting. The only mods that I've seen bring it more money are blowers.

Perfect example is the 07 the OP listed. You can get a bone stock 07 with those kind of miles for around 40K.

I'm not going to go through pages of threads and point out the difference in prices because I already know what I am talking about and there are a bunch out there that are selling for more with aftermarket h/c/i. Ask around or throw up a thread in the C6Z06 discussion part of this forum if you don't believe it.

The 09 is the better buy, and better idea, by FAR..

When you sell it is worth a lot more as well.

Just because the seller listed it as such doesn't mean it will bring in that much money.

For example

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261875408447...84.m1435.l2648

This car was listed as a 40k buy it now and still couldn't sell

I would keep them in mind and keep looking. You want to get a vette that moves you!
