with the mods the warranty is still valid?

no
I really think these engines are solid but the warranty is gone on this if it has been tuned , you are not going to win that against GM and that's afact. Love your car super nice

We are off topic, but while we are... I'd like to add a bit of clarity.
The dealers are instructed by GM to pull the tune on cars that come in with powertrain breakage. If they find a modified tune, they can deny the warranty. This is straight to me from a gearhead friend and 2011 Grand Sport owner who is a sales manager at a dealership. I want to point out that a particular dealer may or may not comply with that directive and even then they might have discretion on whether to honor the warranty or not. Flashing the tune back to stock will not necessarily cover your tracks. The PCM can tell them how many miles since the PCM was last flashed.
There are some threads around where members who know a lot more than me about PCM calibration have chimed in on the subject. They have explained how the dealer can run a checksum and check the OS ID and it will reveal a non-OEM PCM calibration. As a side note, there is also a vendor that claims their calibration product is undetectable. I will leave it up to the more knowledgeable tuners to debate that matter.
Back on topic: Completely GORGEOUS car! A local friend has a JSB ZR1 and it really pops.

If you have a major engine/drive train failure they will read the ECM and send it to GM for approval. Dealer doesn't have a say in whether to do the repair under warranty. They do this on every car made by GM. For minor engine/drivetrain repairs they usually don't bother with checking the tune and proceed as though the car is stock.

Well
They run great from the factory, stock, but when you do engine mods you need to have after market tuning done. The manufacturer has the right then to cancel the factory warranty. More to the story as the owner stated but that is the general idea. Do a search for more info.
As I said this is likely a good solid car.

I'm looking for my next Vette. I've been looking for just the right Z06 but am trying to convince my wife to let me spend a bit more for a ZR1 -- and yours looks very intriguing. Is it still for sale?
