2012 AW/Red Z06 2LZ 9600 miles FS Cincinnati
My typical two year itch has arrived and I have decided to offer my car for sale. The car is spectacular and if it does not sell I will be fine with keeping it. I will attempt to be as detailed with my description as possible. I hate supprises when I am considering the purchase of a car so I will make every effort to give as accurate of a description as I possibly can. Here goes...
I ordered the car on Sept 14 2011 from Fichtner Chevrolet. The car was built on October 31 2011. Museum delivery on Nov 16 2011. The car has never been smoked in. I have been caught in the rain twice, both of which were instances where I was very close to home. Never in snow or salt. The car has been garage kept from day one. It has no track time, but I did 1/4 mile it once (5 or 6 runs) oil has been changed 2 times since new and I am planning on changing it before it goes to sleep for the winter. I have constantly monitored the clutch fluid and flushed using the ranger method often. The only warranty issues to date have been a bad fuel pump and a shrinking carpet issue. The car was built after the supposed fix concerning the valve issue. Nothing going on to suggest that I have an issue, but I was going to have them checked at 10000 miles for piece of mind. I have an extremely competent mechanic here in Cincinnati and would pay to have this done for the buyer as well.
The condition of the car is excellent. It does have close to 10K miles so it is not perfect, but it is very close. I will try to be as detailed as possible with imperfections.
Nose. Perfect. No chips or scratches
Engine compartment. Showroom clean.
Hood. Perfect. No chips or scratches
Front splitter. Two small chips. No cracks.
Front fenders. Perfect. No chips or scratches.
Doors. Perfect on the outside, but I have a warranty issue with the driver side door. The area around the hinge has a hairline crack. GM has agreed to replace the door. I was planning on doing this over the winter, but would obviously have it done sooner and to a potential buyers satisfaction if it sells.
Mirrors. Two very small chips on the driver side. Passenger side perfect.
Windshield. One very minor small chip (pinhead size)
Roof. Perfect. No chips or scratches
Door Jams. Showroom clean.
Tires 6-7/32nd all around (michelins)
Rear fenders. Typical but minor blasting around the rear brake duct area. Otherwise perfect.
Hatch and rear Fascia. Perfect.
Interior. I scuffed the leather E Brake handle when I removed the console. There is some very light shoe scuffing on the drivers side door panel from being careless entering and exiting the car. Everything else is perfect.
Modifications are as follows
15% Tint
RPI Carbon Fiber Splitter and Skirts
Kenwood 9990 Nav (all steering wheel controls work)
JL 500X1 amp
JL 10" W7 anniversary sub in a custom box
ZR1 Spoiler
MGW Short Throw Shifter w/MGW ****
Lloyd front mats
Satin Black OEM Cup wheels 19/20" sizes
Stainless Works 2" new design headers with high flow cats. My car was used by SW to develop their new system. It is a much better design than the old mainly due to the elimination of the box full of clamps that the old system had. The car sounds great at idle and at WOT it sounds plain nasty There is no drone IMO at cruising speed. I NEVER HAD THE CAR TUNED so the full warranty is intact. I was however planing to have a tune preformed over the winter as I do have a CEL on due to install. If headers are not your thing I will have them removed, adjust my asking price down a bit and you will have a "Stock" car. (I still have the stock exhaust components) If they are your thing you can have the car tuned to your specifications.
I have tried to be as detailed as possible with my description. It is very close to a perfect car IMO, but it does have a couple of blems. I cannot imagine that anyone would be disappointed upon viewing my car given my description and disclosures. The door situation is unfortunate, but has to be fixed. The shop is competent and expects that the door will match perfectly with the adjoining panels so the need to blend is not expected. Evidently Artic White is an easy color to match

New pics taken today. The pics above were taken at different times and I thought might be a bit confusing. In some pics the roof had a vinyl wrap and black spoiler. Another showed the stock shifter and ****.
Again, the CEL is just a code from the combination of a stock tune and headers. If you want the headers they stay with the car and tune it to your specs or I can take them out, reinstall the stock manifolds and cats light goes out and away you go
Kenwood 9990 and MGW short throw shifter with MGW ****
This is the crack in the lower hinge area or the driver door that necessitates the replacement. This is scheduled for next week.
Clean as a whistle
Minor "blasting" around rear brake duct. Passenger side is similar.

No public response does not mean a lack of interest. Tire kickers are everywhere. If it sells okay, if it does not its okay as well. As you know the car is pretty awesome.... it's not like I'm slumming around by driving it. I just get bored after a couple of years with a car. If I end up bagging the 69 that I am after it will feed my need for something new and make selling this car less appealing. Twin 427's would be

Price dropped to $61000 (firm)
Open to comments... if you have seen 12's similarly equipped for significantly less let me know and I will put the thought of selling it to bed.

I decided to go ahead and have the car tuned. Decided that I wasnt going to let a sale that may never come dictate what I wanted to do to the car. It will be tuned conservatively by a very competent shop.. it will also have a Callaway CAI installed. Obviously the CEL will be gone. The work, weather permitting will be done by Wednesday.
the valves will also be checked for piece of mind. Results for those interested will be posted later this week in this thread as well as the Z06 section

Car is in good hands (with Danny Popp) and will be done hopefully by Thursday the 17th. I am putting about $1500 into it with the enhancements and piece of mind measures that I am taking. I have bumped the price back to $61000 firm in light of this. I will however honor my $60000 price to the 2 members that I have had what seems to me as semiserious discussions with about my car. (Translated if you have not sent multiple PM's or phone calls your price is 61k)
Again what is being done
Callaway Honker install
Street tune
Synthetic transmission fluid change
Oil and filter
Valves checked
Dyno run after tune and CAI
New door (warranty)

Requested video clip from dyno pull. Headers through stock mufflers. Recorded with galaxy s2. It actually hurt my ears evidenced by me pulling back around 5500 rpm's in 4th gear.

Stunning Z06. If I were buying a Z06 that would be the one.
Very detailed and honest description of the condition of the car. You have my respect for being that detailed and honest.
I wish you the best with your sale.
