that is a big price jump if you're selling your Z for about 50 and the new one cost 100

I don't see how the new Z isn't atleast 85k given the high price of the base c7.

I don't think 52 (when they debuted) is high for the C7, it is a lot of car for the money.

I think it is for being about the same as the C6 it replaced speed wise that was selling for 40k a year ago. Now it's list and starting at 55k. Sure the c7 is faster around the track but for the street it's basically the same car with a futuristic skin imho.

A used z06 is far more car for the money.

I play golf on a regular basis at my club with an owner of a chevy dealership and he believes that the new Z will sell for over 100G's when they first come out.

I don't even know what that means; sure some will sell for over $100k. But so what? Idiots are willing to pay over sticker for lots of cars, some as stupid as the HHR. Heck, my freaking Honda accord, had about $600 of ADP (additional dealer profit) on the sticker. I didn't pay one penny of it.

I'm willing to make a large wager that the new base model Z06 will not sticker for over $100k. Want to take that bet??

My guess would be the base Z06 comes out right under $80k sticker.

I'm willing to take that bet. Starting at 86k is my bet and good luck finding a base at launch. It will easily get over 100k sticker.

No doubt the C6Z is more car for the money. I remember the forum chatter of the C7 being in the 60s for the base model when we found out about the aluminum frame and that it was making almost the same torque as the LS7. I am asked quite often if I'm getting a new Vette at work and when I say they start in the fifties, most of them are surprised

Please don't trash the new guy here.

I am in the market for an AO-C6Z 2LZ, I would prefer a 2009 but have concerns still about the heads.

I don't need a ton of mods, H/C/I would probably be just fine and nothing else.

I have no desire to track the car or road race it or even drive it very hard or as hard as the the car is capable of, but it's not why I want it, I have just sent my last one off to college, it's a purchase that I do not need, just want it.

So I see prices all over the place, mileage all over the place, I was told the trans was much improved on 2008, I also know the AO is rare to find.

So what is "too many miles" and how much $$$$$ drops for over 10K miles, over 20K miles, over 30K miles, etc.

Just want some good advice.

Thanks in advance

Right now on ebay there are a few z06's in the 35 -38k range. Imho now is the worst time to buy. Wait until the new C7Z06 price hits then the C6 Z06 market will run dry and prices will fall. By winter I expect 2006-2007 low mileage z06's to be in the low to mid 30s

My problem is I really only want an AO-C6Z either 2008 or 2009.

Its tough to find that combo and a few members here have or had them for sale, but again I don't need a modded one, just looking for a weekend driver and nothing else.

Would prefer one that was not heavily modded or tracked, as stated before prices are all over the place, I don't really need one now but if the right deal cama long for a close to stock 2008-2009 I would probably pull the trigger.

Ebay has a few in the low 30K miles to low 40K miles, thinking they should be down around $38-40K but are still around $46K respectively.

Neither have the heads addressed at those prices.

so does that mean we can expect LS3 base model C6's to fall into the 25 to 27 range? Will that push LS2 cars into the C5z range (22ish?)

The ls2 cars are already in that neighborhood for 05s. Yeah that's what I expect. This will happen if the c7z06 debuts in the 75-78k range. If it comes out at 90k I doubt things will move too much.

The Eagles has an album with the answer to your question....

WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER.

The c7 has made them all go UP or at the worst static.

Z06 debuting in $75-78k range. That won't be happening.

I have seen several LS2/M6 cars with 50K or less for the mid to high $20k's on dealer lots, a bunch with less than 40K miles being offered in the really low $30k's and a bunch of 2008 + LS3/M6 or LS3/A6 cars on CL and AT in the low $30k range as well on dealer lots I have even seen some in the $34k-$36k range with 3LT pkgs.

The C7 is definitely putting pressure on all of the C6 models, but as others have posted how much is yet to be seen.

Luckily I am in no rush and have time to wait for the right deal to hopefully come along.

Just hoping to find the combo I want in AO-C6Z-2LZ or 3LZ

I didn't think so either until I looked at what insiders are saying. Recent posts by them say 75-78k.
