I am being realistic with my budget, I know how much these cars are worth. If you want to get rid of your z instead of giving it to a dealer for less let me know. Yes, I have read the "wtb realistic price thread" and I don't want this to be a continuation because that got out of hand. I prefer under 40k miles. thanks pete
Funny that you sent that I have been talking to her all week and I am on the phone with a dealership in prince george to get the car inspected. I thought it was a scam at first but am not sure right now. Do you know why the mileage on a carfax would not be reported a few times? also anyone have abs/module problems before?

typically it's emissions related. if you see cars that have mileage holes it's usually from not going through emissions. here in the states various places do not require emissions testing which is why it's fairly common to see vehicles sometimes jump from 2800 miles to 50000 miles on the carfax

Agreed. A gap in the carfax is not all that uncommon. Plus, it's not unusual for places to either mis-report or forget to report something. I have sold cars that had gaps, but I had receipts to fill the gaps for the buyers. I would be cautious, but not necessarily suspicious...
I guess you'd have to pay the $100 to have a dealer of your choice inspect the car. Explain the situation on the phone, ask them to snap a few pictures of the VIN, etc and I think that would give you reasonable proof to move forward on the purchase.
As the buyer, I think there is relatively low risk if you finance any part of the car - as the bank will pretty much own the car before you deliver certified funds and drive it away. At least, that was my experience.
I have yet to see an 08 for <35k unless it has 100k miles. The market dictates the price, if the car is worth 30k but you can't find one for 30k than the market price would be exactly that, "the market price". The value of the vehicle differs from the market value. Just my opinion, that said I've been looking for a C6Z but can't find one w lower miles for the price I feel I should pay. As a result I was looking into a viper, but those are ridiculously priced as well.
I'm still convinced this car is a scam. Talking to the lady, her responses seemed like they were computer generated? Know what I mean?
Also, I originally found it on cars.com and it was located in Michigan under a name of "Gene" I think. Then the whole Cali number thing makes it wierd.
I asked her to find a dealer up by her and she said she isn't sure there is one. Well, at that point I was out. And I'm just too far away to transport or even fly in to check it out.
Tread carefully man... If its legit, whoa, what a deal. But if not, I'd hate to see the results.
Guys she sent me additional pictures of "the car". "she payed a guy to post it in the states" "it was her wedding gift" "she needs cash to start a business" she sent me a pic o the vin, its a steal and i emailed her and talked to a dealership to get it inspected today and she is yet to respond. she used to live in cali. the other funny thing is this - http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=5
almost the same exact type of posting. the number doesnt work. the license plate is blacked out just like hers. 4 pictures. kinda sketchy also extremely cheap for an 09. however its very cheap for an 09 but there are cars out there. in june my dad and i bought an 09 blade silver with 26k miles for 41 equipped with corsa exhaust, slp headers, diablo tuner, dynoed at 498 rwhp, grey spyder rims and chrome zr1 rims. it was a steal. guy was going through a divorce. so im still looking and gonna keep u guys posted on the canadian mystery
I know this wasn't directed at me, but the avatar shows a 5.7, so my guess is an 04. I also had a red 04 (401/373) and a yellow 05 (480/440 - full Monaro conversion)... I loved the heck out of those cars...
I emailed her and got different pics from the 09 above. She said someone on here was contacting her but couldn't get their loan approved. I asked for pictures of the title as well as the VIN on the car itself to match before flying out. We'll see her response !
