Any rust with that one? I'm always weary of vehicles from up north or by the ocean.

Just because of Florida doesn't necessarily mean by the ocean. There's lot's of inland.

By the way, great thread! I had to sell my 6 spd. MT '06 Black on black coupe due to a mini stroke and not being able to use my left foot very well anymore. Too hard to use the clutch...damnit!

I'm now looking for an '06 automatic 3LT vert. Not easy to find.

Great thread!

I'm looking for a Black/Tan coupe as well.....hopefully located in Texas or Florida. This will be my 3rd C6.

I am a cash buyer but need to find a "deal"

The Dealer offers of 34.5K for a new one is pretty tempting!

I watch ebay daily!

all depends on condition. if it's a lot of freeway miles and he's kept up and the scheduled work and taken care of it you could have a good buy in that 17-18 range.

would have to go look at it to see what kind of condition it's in

Bought a 2008 with 54,000 miles. For $25,000.
As I assumed before, it's just owners and dealers asking inflated prices.
Thanks, everyone.

also a no reserve so it should close reasonable
Your posts confuse me.

The C5Z has far far higher demand than a C6 coupe. Go into the C5 for sale section. There are as many WTB C5Z threads than for sale threads. 25K for a mint 2002 low mile C5Z is realistic and they are selling at these price points. Why should they sell for less ? For you ? Your 15k sales are by far the exception.

I have been looking for well over a year for the perfect C5Z. C6 coupes just like C5 coups are worth a fraction of what the Z's are. A lot of people (me included) are looking for a low mile C5Z to keep. I will pay 25 - 30K without issue when I find the right one. I dont get all upset if the price is more than I can afford or feel works for me. Wish them luck and move on.

So a 65k z06 is worth $24,000? Maybe a 15-20,000 mile one

Crazy, C5 looks dated inside and out, slower then an LS3 in straight acceleration and track performance.....limited to the hardtop. My opinion but its not worth C6 money, shocked someone would be willing to drop 30k on any C5 these days.

Great deal, which state did you find it in? Private sale or off a dealer?

Now is not a good time to be buying vettes. For some reason sellers are jacking up prices on these things and the worst part of it is that people are buying them. Several months ago I bought a fully built 05 victory red c6 with 62,000 on the clock for 22,500. I bought a used F1C kit for 3,500 and put down well over 800 to the tire.

exactly

there are some c5 diehards that just adore the c5z though

i considered a c5z for awhile but the prices are so close to a c6 and i like basically everything about the 6 more. better looking car, more modern, will have parts support for a decade etc

it's lack of supply. there are fewer used cars on the market right now than there were last summer. the whole buy in winter sell in summer thing turned out to be crap this year. sellers waiting till spring should be taking advantage of the skim market right now

I'm not selling my perfect 57k mile black on black 2008 Z51 M6 with NPP and manual and HUD but if I were...I'd be asking 28.5....

thats about the price I think is fair.

I think the 22 grand is low by a few grand for the c6 coupe and you must too if you haven't found one yet..

My suggestion and its just that ...is raise your buy by a few grand and you'll spend less time shopping and more time driving..

Over the years I found a few grand less in price as a seller makes for an easier transition and a few grand more as a buyer and you spend more time driving the car of your dreams..

To bitch about prices and buyers having to high an expectation is not always the only area to consider...Sometimes you need to consider what you're looking to spend as being just below the market ..

Why waste your time? Sometimes getting that lower price than the market ...leads to headaches on a car where you can't see the headache where a slightly more expensive car is running like a champ.

Good luck finding the car..I'm sure you'll find it...and as a previous owner of a c5 Z06...it was a great car. I have great memories of it...but as a daily driver...the c6 z51 M6 with NPP kicks its butt..

I keep the roof off my coupe all summer long...Its a real pleasure...

Have fun! (sorry for the rant yet I thought I might add some insight to get you into that corvette a little faster as its really an amazing ride ...the few extra grand you spend will be the best money out of your pocket)
