Default WTB, late model GS vert

I know how these threads can go south, so I hope to avoid that.
My deal is this: Cash available for immediate purchase.
But it has to be a good deal or I'll buy new.
Maybe not a sellers problem, but the facts are simple. New discounts are at least 15k and right now that's not enough to make me buy. Add in that I have over another 2k to use on my GM card and that goes up every month.
No red, black, silver, or yellow.
Willing to travel some, but the closer the better.
Brand new I'm in the 50's, so used in the 50's doesn't make sense to me.
A Merry Christmas To All!

Are you looking for a car with any equipment on it?

Good ad and straight to the meat of a deal, most sellers don't understand how affordable a new C6 is at this time and only look at how much they will lose on depreciation, good luck in your search.

Not sure what this means?
I would prefer a 3LT, but could live with a 2LT.
Really needs to be a late model with very low miles.
No problem if people think I'm being unrealistic. If so, I'll buy new.

I think that question refers to your comment that you said buying used in the $50s is pretty much out of the question for you. You want a very late model with very low miles. How about options? Are you saying that you won't pay $50k for anything used?

I'm sure I don't need to tell you that pricing on used (and new) Corvettes is based on the year, the model (coupes less expensive), the options and the mileage. The more options and the less miles bring a higher price. That's not a surprise.

You say you can buy a new one in the 50's. Does that mean 50 or 59k? Big difference. Is that a coupe or a convertible? Is it a "regular" Corvette or a Grand Sport? But...depending on what you want, you can probably find something new in your desired price range. You may or may not get all the bells and whistles, but I'm sure there's something new out there for you. I'm sure you've tried MacMulkin in Nashua, NH.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Elaine

Thank you, I thought so too.
I'm not trying to insult anyone, waste their time or mine.
I'm not saying I would be thrilled to sell my 2011 or 2012 for such a big hit, but you can't argue the new pricing on 13's, and then you have to factor in depreciation.
It hasn't even started to snow here in the north east, so we still have a long winter to go and I'm in no hurry.

This was posted in another thread for reference. So a 2011 should be even less.

Not to upset the market, but I got very lucky... Last month I picked up '12 GS vert, manual trans, inferno orange, 3LT, NPP w/chrome wheels for.........$49,995 car has 2,200 miles. I could not pass up this deal...got it from carwax

I'm sure you know 1 car doesn't make a bench mark for the market. so that doesn't mean an 11 should sell for less. Anytime a dealer sells a car less then it will do through an auction always raises concern. Not to mention if you weren't there to see the deal or car, paint work, accidents, etc then it doesn't hold much water.

Hopefully you find something before they release pricing for the 2014 Convertibles. Once people see what a nice option 2014 is going to sell for or what most dealers will ask for them its going to bring UP the market on 2010-2013 GS's Convertibles. The price difference will be too big. It will just like 2005 all over again when 2004's were selling cheap then 6 months/12 months later people were complaining how they could've bought them cheaper new.

Good luck in your search

Default wtb gs vert

I realize you have no interest in my 11 vert, this is just another point of reference.
My vert which has 2200 miles with the only options being CRM,paddle shift, chrome wheels,NPP,sport seats, power top and a ZR1 spoiler will be for sale at $55k.
I believe clean used low mileage verts are definitely holding their value.

At your asking price NOBODY will have any interest in your car.

The 2011 White/Gray No NPP exhaust, again it should be cheaper with no NPP and you can't compare a CRM/Cashmere/Cashmere to a White/Gray car. I'm sure everyone will adjust but you only have a few months and when people see how much a 2014 Convertible will cost and the discounts will be GONE with a $20,000+ price difference between a nice used GS and a new 2014 the prices will come up on the GS's sooner then later. Buy your discounted 2013's now because when their gone their gone. Its going to be just like 2004 all over again when people were bitching 6 months into 2005 production that they could've bought a 2004 new cheaper then what they were selling for used.
