I wish I was a little bit taller
I wish I was a baller
I wish I had a girl who looked good
Then I'd call her.
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
And a '64 Impala

I also see way too many `06 and `07's in the mid $40's - which I just don't get. I think it will be a long winter for many sellers, and more realistic pricing will be catching on in the early spring of next year.
Now we can all afford to buy the car and have our heads reworked.

Now, don't even get me started on the base coupes!

some folks are in dream land with the base coupes.
lot of corvette owners don't care if they sell the car or not. screws with market economics as they leave ads up for years and have this glass floor under prices that the uninformed go off of. then, weeks later when the guy who actually wants to sell his car; does a little research and realizes that he posted way too high and it's probably why the phone isn't ringing

If you look at the prices from a year ago they were starting to dip into the mid 30s. My buddy bought one off this very forum last summer (2011) with around 40k miles for 36 grand. He sold that same car last fall for 40 grand. Admittedly he put a Corsa exhaust on it which set him back about 1300 or so, but he still made money on the deal which astounded me.
In fact there is one for sale on this forum right now that was purchased in the mid to upper 30s last year and is for sale for more than that now. Looks like the new owner put some money into it, but still, the prices are up higher than they should be IMO.
The prices ticked up for some reason and have hovered there but they'll be ticking back down next year after these new cars start coming to market. Then you'll see me rolling in my C6Z.

The used car dealers down here cannot compete with our sponsors. For what they want for base coupes, I can get a brand spanking new 2013 from one of the board sponsors for just a couple grand more than these dealers are asking on 2009's with 20K miles.
Obviously they are hoping to sell to non-forum members.

I am in northern California. As soon as I get a little good weather to take decent pictures, I am going to post my 2006 DSOM 2LZ, 56k miles, extremely clean for a non-garage-queen car. Nav, 2-tone seats, chrome replica split spokes, General UHPs that are 2/3rds worn out in the stock size. Mild cam, just for the beautiful sound and 522 rwhp is just a bonus. Mild to wild, CAI, stock exhaust. I drive it like a grandpa because I am. I want $38,500 for it, but since the tires aren't anything to brag about and most of you young fellas will want to remove the beautiful chrome rims and replace them with some hideous black things, I'll take $37k for it and that gives you some room to put some money toward your tires and black powdercoat next year or whenever you finish these UHPs. Clean title, in hand, no liens, no stories. I'm not in any financial bind, so low offers will have no appeal to me. If you want to negotiate, you start at $35k and I'll start at $39k, and we can meet in the middle at $37k. There, I saved a lot of time! I might consider the right JK Rubicon 4-dr as a partial trade. Best to email me at dds.z06 at g mail.

Realistically a 06-07Z with about 40k miles should be going for about 35k in Good condition, Dont know what people are asking 40k+ for these cars..
My buddy bought a 06z 27k miles for $34k ... which is a price these cars do go for, the previous owner had the car up for 41k for about 8 months .. NO BITES...
The entire Valve dropping/ push rod failure doesnt help, these cars are coming out of warranty and if the Heads aren't reworked you just paid 40k for a ticking timebomb . Which if it blows you now need 15k for another motor.. putting you at 55k LOL.
Any of you who think theses cars without warranty are worth over 40k are nuts.
