Default FS: 10 sec 2006 C6Z06 in TX (E85)

I have been debating this for a while now and figured I'd throw it out there to see if anyone is interested. I am the 2nd owner of the car, bought from Boardwalk Chevrolet when original owner traded the car in for a ZR1. Car has a clean title and is located in Houston, TX area.

Car:
2006 C6Z06
36,xxx miles
2LZ with NAV, HUD, and memory seats
Machine Silver exterior
Black interior w/ silver bolsters

Modifications: (all have less than 2000 miles)
Forged Mahle Pistons
Stock rods (pinned)
Stock crank (polished)
Clevite bearings
ARP rod, main, flywheel, and head bolts
WCCH 13.8:1 high compression heads
GM OEM MLS head gaskets
QM Black Widow revised cam
FAST 102 intake manifold (painted silver and ported by QM)
NW 102 TB
Halltech Killer Bee II air intake
83# short body injectors for E85
Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump
Firecore50 spark plugs wires
Optima red top battery
NGK TR55 (gapped at .027)
American Racing 1 7/8" headers (no cats)
Stock exhaust w/ muffler mod and mild2wild
McLeod RXT twin disc clutch and remote bleed
Hurst short throw shifter
GM full width spoiler (painted silver)
Stock wheels
General Exclaim UHP fronts 275/35/18 (80% tread)
Nitto NT05R rears 345/30/19 (50% tread)

The car was just tuned on a Mustang Dynometer and made 546 rwhp/509 rwtq w/ E70. Mustang dyno's tend to read lower, but are better for tuning. Car is tuned for 11.5:1 AFR which is fairly rich, but the car only made ~5whp more with 12.5:1 so we opted for the safety of more fuel. The car is an E85 setup with this kind of compression. In order to run pump, the car would need thicker head gaskets to bump the compression down and then a re-tune, but this car is no longer my daily driver so I appreciate the cooling capabilities of the E85 along with the knock retardant characteristics of E85.

I have not had the car to the track with this new setup, but the old setup which made 545/505 on a Dynojet went 10.6 @ 132 with the stock clutch and a 1.70 60' on the NT05R tires. The new setup should be capable of low-mid 10 sec passes all motor with an average joe driver.

Any questions about car, please send a PM.

Price: $42.5k FIRM (New lowered Price)

Recent detail video of car (kind of cheesy), but the paint, interior, etc...were all recently cleaned up.

You may have understated the cheese factor.

I didn't make the video....that's just something this detail place does. I was just trying to show people a view of the car fresh after the detail was completed. So the paint is nice and deep even after basic hand washes now. But yes, it's definitely full of CHEESE!!!

Mustang dyno's tend to read fairly low compared to dynojets....but it's all relative. We tuned on the Mustang because it's a better dyno for real world tuning, but it is definitely not the dyno of choice for people who are looking for a big dyno sheet to post on their wall. I care a bit more about the cars track performance, but I have not taken this car to a track since it was built....depending on how long it takes to sell, I may go make some test passes just to post up some faster ET's than the 10.6 from the old setup. Should be a pretty solid low 10 sec Z.

I ran against a head/cam/built C6Z the other day who made 613rwhp/560rwtq on a dynojet and even from a 3rd gear roll at 70mph (to eliminate any traction issues for either of us) my car pulled away from him up to 160mph.....plus I had a 270lb passenger in the car. So again, dyno numbers don't mean much in the real world.

LC You forgot to put in your post how badass it sounds with the high compression and e85. Baddest sounding Z I've heard.

The car did have 1 accident reported against it which was fully repaired by Richey Collision Center here in Houston who are the local Corvette specialists. Nothing was skipped over, everything was replaced with OEM new parts from Gene Culley at GM parts direct.

I have two paths going at once....so I may sell the car the way it sits, but I am also working on selling the high compression heads and getting another set of heads for the car to knock down the compression ratio and go back to pump gas for either the ease of the sale for people who don't want to deal with E85, or for my next plans for a car which include twin turbos, so I can't run 13.8:1 + boost. So we'll see what happens first, but if anyone is looking for a built motor, head, cam, pump gas setup....it may be on the way until I get my ducks in a row for the twin turbo parts.

I am planning to lose the high compression heads and go back to pump gas. Also may put the stock LS7 intake manifold and tb back on the car and lower the price down to $43k OBO. The car will get re-tuned for pump gas.

So for $43k, you would be getting a built motor, cam, headers, intake, clutch, etc...

Just throwing the idea out there for those of you that may be interested but are being deterred by the E85. Car will probably make 560-570rwhp with this cam on a dynojet. Will keep the thread updated.

You may want to do a little work to clean up the interior. The carpet pulling away from the driver side of the tunnel makes it look like the car hasn't been taken car of.

There is nothing I can do about that...it is a known problem with the 06 model years. I am not sure if GM issued an STB for it however, but if you search on the forum, you will see a lot of talk about the carpet shrinkage on the 06 model years. The 06 is the lightest year because GM kept a lot of weight off the car, insulation, carpet, etc...

The car has been well taken care of, but I can't work miracles. The roof recall has also been completed since that was another issue with the 06 model years.
