Seperate WTB and Vendor sections please?
Looking thru the FS section seems to be a bit harder these days. Right now there are 70 threads on page 1, 20 of them are WTB and 8 of them are Vendor sales. Wouldn't it be easier for ALL parties involved to have a separate place to put their ads. When people are looking for NEW cars they can browse that section, when they are looking for used they can browse the regular FS section, and the WTB people can have a section for sellers to brows to find prospective buyers. Just a thought, as I have seen this type of arrangement work on other sites. Thanks for looking folks.

Thanks for the suggestion, Justin. The suggestion, or a variation of it, comes up with some regularity. Making the change would be relatively simple, technically, but we've resisted it because of the dynamics involved and the feedback we've gotten in separating sections in the past.
First, the dynamics. We know from experience that separating content into separate sections or sub-sections also takes the activity of an existing section and splits it into smaller pieces. Sections that have diminished activity tend to become static, rather than dynamic. Users quickly lose interest in static sections and stop visiting them.
And while it seems perfectly logical on the surface that separating content would make it easier to find, the feedback we've gotten when we have done that has been that we have made using the Forum more difficult because we have forced users to check multiple sections to find what they are looking for.
We'll continue to monitor traffic in the section to see if warrants a split and can be done without creating any "unloved orphans."
