After years of looking but never pulling the trigger I found a 06 base DSOM with 12500 miles. Its at a dealer(upstate NY) who is about a 2 hour drive away from me. They took it in trade from a local. Their rock bottom is $30,000. It has Borla,SLP cold air induction,MHT rims (that look like chrome Z06 rims) with new looking Toyo tires. Also the rotors were the drilled kind but didnt know if they were stock or put on. The car had a few small scratches on the passenger side front fender where it looked like someone was leaning in to the motor bay. Also has two little screw holes in front bummper where license plate was. I drove the car today and seemed to run good. It was my first time in a c-6. Should I pull the trigger. $30,000 is about my limit. The car is gonna be a queen for me that will come out on nice weekends. Thanks for any input.

Bought my 08 2lt with wheel and paint upgrades for 39k with 3000 miles at the end of 2008.
I would try to buy a 100% stock garage queen if possible. In most cases if they are modded they have not been babied. That dealer need to lower his price for you.
The car was sold shortly after I left the dealership. I didnt put anything down cause I was going to sleep on it and see what you guys thought. I see you guys think that a c6 loaded with low miles should be around $30-32000. I have been having a tough time finding that to be true here in the north east. I'm lookin for a c-6 coupe with manual. Dont want black. I really would like to see one with low miles loaded up for around $30000 or so. I am ready to buy and cant find one. I should have put money on the one from thr dealer.
I never really trusted buying anything used from a dealer. They always want their cut and you don't always know what you are getting.
I waited around here for awhile until I found one of the members with the right vette at the right price. I'd trust these guys over a dealer.
Let me know what your looking for. I have a buddy that has access to GM auctions. He was going to get me one until I found mine on here.
DoC, I'm looking for a C-6 coupe(not black),manual with under 20k miles. Around $30G. I sent you a PM with my phone # if you want to call me. I would like to speak with you about your buddy who has access to GM auctions. Thanks,
Steve

Was this the first one that caught your eye?
Over the years, I have learned that having a certain level of detachment from these cars is quite important.
You do not necessarily want to jump at the first one you see.
There is a 'right' Vette out there for you. As teh weather warms, you will have a better opportunity to find the best one for your circumstances.
Great advice. Consider how you want your M6 optioned. If it's a long term hold, you'll probably want to be particular. A Corvette was the only car that could make me pull the buyer's trigger. Remember, you're in complete control unless you're shopping for financing, too. You still make the final call.
After more research, I added a particular factory rear end, NPP exhaust, and a 3LT package with NAV to my "must have" list. Now, I am very happy that I continued reading more while looking and waiting for my car. With the funds ready, you should be able to jump on the perfectly optioned M6.
Mine was 3 hours away. I would have traveled further to make a purchase this big if everything about the car and deal was right. Dealer's can do pre-buyer's inspections anywhere to help clear your conscious before flying in for your own inspection.
