Default 06, A6 8700 miles

Looking to move to a Z. Dealer offered me 29K for a mint 3LT Monterey red with Nav, Corsa sports and chrome CCW505As and 8700 miles. Perfect car. Had a used 08 Z with 400 miles for 58995. Wanted mine at 29 and his at full price. If I listed the car here what should it fetch?

Hard to say, but with those low miles, you might get $30k or a little more.

Assuming it's a 2LZ that he wants 58995 for, Imho, a used 2LZ should sell for about 52,000, so in effect he's offering you about 23,000 or maybe a little more for yours. Realistically, you might see maybe in the high twenties on here( bear in mind there are a ton of super thrifty types on here that only want to steal it & then some to contend with). If you are the original owner & it's real clean with the low miles, you should be able to move it, but may not get more than mid to higher twenties. Sometimes it's just not worth all the hassles dealing with all the lookie loos, & obnoxious cheapskates plus the loss of the tax credit to sell it your self.

You are almost certainly going to come out of the deal better if you sell it then negotiate a cash deal for the car you are buying. With that said, if the difference in money between the cars makes you happy - don't let my opinion keep you from going for it. Some dealers may really want to move a Z06 at this time of year and might give you a decent deal. Besides, they do need to make some profit if they are going to stay in business.

If you can buy that Z for $55K cash and can come down on the 07 price a few thousand, a bunch of us are going to get interested. Let us know what happens.

Congratulations on the new Z.
You don't take very long to make a decision.
Post some photos of the new car and we will celebrate with you.
