OK, after 3 months for sale on the Forum, 60 posts, and over 10,500 views I'm throwing in the towel.

I guess I'll put her on Auto Trader, Ebay, etc. Maybe I'll have better luck.

I understand your frustration but I would not padlock it. Just keep it rollin. You can always do a simulcast with the trader etc.

Probably a good point Pearlwhite, the endless tire kickers and low ballers got to be a bit much. If I could get one serious offer at a reasonable price (no sorry, you're not going to steal this car, it already is priced beyond fairly) I'd leave it open.

At this rate it'll take 25,000 views and 150 posts...

You're welcome. That's what we're here for. To help each other out.

The autotrader did me well on that VY 07 avatar car. Tried CF w/o luck (where I bought it) and did the trader and it sold like in a few weeks. That's the critical time. Had another vette in the trader for a year and never got a buyer to the house. Put it at a friends car wash in AM & sold in PM same day.

On low ballers...that's a deliberate underestimation of value. There is value & there's crazy talk. But it can be a tool for negotiating and reaching a compromise on final price. No seller wants to think he sold out & no buyer wants to think he paid too much.

Trader btw is a good deal for the price (around $50 or so till it sells) with tons of pics. Can amend daily as often as you want. Just renew it on time if you go that way.

Honestly, this is why I'm hesitant to close the ad and even sorrier to have to sell the car and leave such an outstanding group of folks. I've never met a better group of people, who were more helpful, and all around great folks than the Corvette community. Once I put this momentary setback in employment behind me you can bet that I'll be back - it just won't be the same without being a part of the Vette family.

Hey, don't give up! I had 150 posts and 17,000 views before mine sold, so you're just warming up.

But honestly, I really think the best way is to SELL somewhere else and BUY here. Too much BS and low ballin' on the forum. Good thing I didn't listen to all the 'experts' here or I would have given my car away.

Thanks BigBucks - I appreciate your encouragement - actually I looked at your for sale thread last night and saw that you sold yours - congratulations, and at a good price. The guy you sold to sounded very happy as well - you gotta love a win-win. That's what I'm shooting for too.

As a result of all of this activity on my post I did receive a very promising PM this morning from a gentlemen who's very interested in the car. So as usual you guys were right - I just needed a little more time at it. We'll see where we go from here.
