FS: 2005 DSOM Z51 coupe; Vette Magazine Project Car! $36,500
Now on ebay.
For sale: Vette Magazine’s Daytona 600 project car. As such, it has only the very best parts available from LG Motorsports, Comp, FAST, MSD, Forgeline, Zip, Nasty Performance and more. This car is easily the best deal available on a modified C6 today. It has all the right performance pieces with plenty of room for you to add your own touches. It is completely docile in traffic and can be driven anywhere. On the other hand, it makes great power and has the oats to go low 11's, if drag racing is your thing. If corner carving is more your style, this is definitely the car for you. Each component has been carefully chosen and optimized to induce brain slosh through the twisties.
All mods have been documented on the pages of the magazine for the past year and a half. You can see the first part of the series by following this link: http://tinyurl.com/2wz7hr Once there, you can search the site for all subsequent articles.

Good question. The car picked up 14rwhp on E85 over 92 octane. E85 has an octane rating of 105, which allows a more aggressive timing curve than pump gas. It is currently 80 cents per gallon cheaper than 87 octane, and it smells better too!

Why the sale? Is the car finished to what the intent was? What wheels come withthe car? Do you have pics of the different wheels availible? What would the HP for tune on 93 octane (E85 not availible)? Any damage? What duty cycle are you at with the injectors? If you were to squeeze more power what would be your next step, heads biger cam? I don't plan to Auto cross, either street/drag strip ocasionaly.

The car comes with the custom 18x10/18x11 LG World Challenge polished wheels and RA-1's at $39,500. The wheels can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/69macf I can't find any static photos of the car with the LG wheels, but you can see an action shot on the picasa site, linked above. The car with the Forgelines and like-new Yokohamas is $43,000.
On LG's dyno in March '07, it made 450rwhp on pump gas. It made about 15 less on pump gas at HiTech last August, before the E85 tune. The difference simply reflects different dynos, different days, and different operators. With the HiTech tune http://tinyurl.com/6hoq5s it gained back 14rwhp with the E85 and more aggressive timing. If I remember correctly, the injector duty cycle was just under 70%, meaning there is significant headroom remaining. They were chosen to allow for future modifications. The next thing I would do is heads and a more aggressive cam to match.
As I said the car has never been hit, has always been garage kept and covered, and is in great condition all around.
Thanks for your interest.

Someone PM'd to ask about possible paint damage visible in the AX photo. Prior to each AX, I applied clear shelf paper to the paint around and behind the wheel wells to protect it from sand and stones while using the RA-1's. It worked perfectly.
