Do Not Buy This Black 06 Z06
Just decided to search Autotrader today.
Amazingly I came across my Old Z06. This car was bought back my GM and lemon lawed. This car was also in an ~$25k accident. (not my fault )
VIN 1G1YY25E865116420
With nearly 20k miles this stealership is asking $55k for it.
Feel free to call them and offer $30k for it.

The last thing you would expect coming from a Z06.
So I left my job at UBS to start at a friend's internet startup company. Secondly I got engaged to the hottest girl I could find that would put up with me.
This new job let me enter the International Motor Press Association. The only reason people join IMPA is for the test days. There are two days. On day one there's a parking lot of a huge hotel that has every single new car and soon to be new car on the road. On day two all these cars are brought to the Poconos raceway and lined up in pit road. Now both days you and other members of the "media" can walk up to any car and just drive it away. Don't need to talk to anyone or even sign anything. Just get in and drive.
Out of all the cars I drove there from the R8 to the Sprinter there were only a few that I really liked. The G37, Mini Cooper S, and new R32. Of course the 600hp Viper was fun as was the CLK Black Series but they were a little over my new recently engaged pricepoint of under $40k.
Within a week I ordered a loaded Mini Cooper S and couldn't be happier.
Do I miss my Z06..oh hell yeah. Do I look at C5Z06's which I said I'd never drive again and stare at them and drewl...hell yeah. But the Mini is fun. The Mini is an incredible amount of fun. In my crowded tiny road area of Long Island the Z06 was almost a waste. I had to drive the car at 20% or I'd be killed or in jail. Taking highway on-ramps at 90mph seems like fun in theory but it's not when more often than not you almost hit someone in the rear. With the Mini I can push the car at 110% at all times till the tires are on fire. Taking that same on-ramp at 70 in the Mini is a lot more challenging and entertaining. With the Mini there's a smile on my face 100% of the time. But with the Z06 when I had a smile that 10% of the time it was a much much bigger grin.
So I leased my Mini for 3 years to force me into saving money and not biting the bullet on a faster bigger dollar car.
I miss my Z06 a lot.....but DO NOT BUY IT!!

Of course I had to go matte black.

I had a 2004 MINI S. You are right, that car is a lot of fun. I stopped by Northamericanmotoring forum just the other day to see the new stuff. Loved my supercharger, wondering how the new turbos are working out. Try not to buy too much Alta stuff. Happy Motoring.

Headlights
Roof
Tranny twice. (shouldn't have taught her stick on it)
Throttle body three times.
Computer twice.
You get the picture. I'm sure there's more I'm leaving out.
I will have another vette though. This doesn't ruin their image for me. I got a bad one...it happens. I drove my C5Z twice as hard and it was rock solid for three years. ZR1, C7, C7Z06, Civic, McLaren F1? Well we'll see how the soon to be wife and startup company go.

I sent them an offer of $35,000 along with the information in this thread. I'm sure they are going to be quick to smash the delete button on that.
Busman - My investigation is ongoing on your car .....in hopes I trip over 20$K in the next few days.
