Hi everyone,
I am looking at purchasing a C6 vette. I drive about 30K per year and don't want a fully loaded vehicle. I have found three and need your input or advise. All are 1LT's and 6 speeds. All are black. One is a strippy no options vehicle for $39500.00. One has jsut a Z51 pkg for $41500.00 and one has Z51, NPP exhaust for $43600.00. I am looking to keep the cost down, but want to make a smart buy. Is the Z51 worth the fee, I don't race at all, and the NPP exhaust is it the choice of exhaust. Is there a better aftermarket exhaust?
Thanks all
If you want to keep the car go for it, if you are going to dump in a year or 2 don't. 30k a year is a lot on and most people hate high mile cars, I wouldn't care if it were me, but some do.....
I say drive it and have fun. I'm looking for a used 08 myself. The LS3 will bring more $$ in the long run.
Get the base $39.5k one. You drive 30k miles a year. You'll be changing out tires more than once a year if you go with Z51. Base car tires will last twice as long as Z51 ones.

Supercar tires wear faster than non supercar tires.
To the OP, it really depends on how long you would plan on keeping it too. When considering what it is going to be worth when you trade it in, the black books do not go by the option levels despite the fact that they should. For example, the book value for a 3LT car with just the 3LT package (no glass top or NAV) is the same as the book value for a 1LT car despite all the things you get with the 3LT. If you don't keep them long, I say go with the base model car. Same car, just lack of some of the options and will offer the least amount of depreciation when you go to sell it. You will already have a lot of depreciation with the higher miles, no sense in increasing that by buying a bunch of options that have no value for trade when the time comes.

Thanks for the tire answer.
But wouldn't you limit your buyers with a 1LT optioned car. I hear what you are saying about black books, but wouldn't most everyone (used car buyers) want 2LT or 3LT if the resale is the same?

Trade values will differ slightly compared to private party. You have a larger market for base cars because their lower price opens to a larger audience of buyers.

I wouldn't even look at the car if it didn't have the "Heads up" display
