Default Reputable Car Transporters

Well it looks like I've sold my DSOM, and the Guy buying is in Arizona, and I'm in IL. Anybody here used a transport service? If so, let me know. The guy would want an enclosed carrier.

I have not used them yet but i got a quote from Safe and Sound Auto transporters ( 888-474-7734 ) from California to Indiana for $ 1000 open or $ 1500 enclosed. Boardwalk Chevrolet recomended them. They are based in Iowa

I have heard great things about Passport (FedEX). Started out as a local company in StL, then FedEX bought them...
congrats on the sale Keith

Find out where in the transporter it will be parked. I have heard sad tales of cars arriving with damage due to leaking fluids from cars loaded above them.

I plan on filming it being loaded so there is no question of the condition once it leaves my hands to the new owner. The new owner is doing the arrangements and picking the hauler. It's FOBSP.

When I was buying a car back in the spring and was going to purchase a car on Boston and have it shipped, the quotes I got included details about liability insurance, and the one I was considering even said he looked the cars over and took pictures to protect himself as well, but then he specialized in sports and luxury cars and it was a closed carrier. I also reccomended to the new buyer he spring the extra bucks to have it protected from road trash. I did not know that Fedex had that service back then or I would have contacted them.

Default I have used FedEx Passport twice and Reliable once

FedEx Passport would be my choice for enclosed transport. They stayed in touch during transport and arrived exactly when promised.

I highly recommend Almond Exotic Transport. Gary Almond took very good care of my C6, and his price and delivery time beat all the other carriers I contacted. I couldn't have been happier.

The guy that bought my 90 vert had InterCity transport it. They treated it like it was their own. Door to door service. Covered it in plastic when they picked it up and the buyer was thrilled with the way they communicated with him all the way up the coast to New York from Georgia.

I have used both FedEx and Reliable a couple of times and would not consider using anyone else. Definitely would not go through a broker! A broker may be cheaper but in my opinion , not worth the hazel!

Just my 2 cents!

Jim

P.S Reliable has hub in Measa, AZ

My experience with auto transport brokers is that they will promise you
whatever you want to hear and deliver very little. I believe that consumer
complaints about auto transport brokers is number two, right behind
complaints regarding used car dealers!
