I spoke to a dealer last Friday. He said that they had a sales meeting scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) and expected an announcement at that time. He didn't have a clue as to what GM was planning to offer.
There are 6,000 07s looking for a home with more being built until approx. June 24th. I really can't see 6,000 07s clearing the market without some incentives with the 08s soon to arrive.
I agree. Stopped by my local Chevy dealer this evening and confirmed that there is no incentives on 07 Corvettes. He has 15 in stock (plus 3 Z06's) and was hoping for something to help clear them out before the 08's start arriving.
I was seriously considering an 07, but will wait for the 08's to arrive now.
Normally, the dealer incentives are from the first week of one month until the first week of the next month. With all the unsold 2007 Corvettes, I'm pretty sure there will be an incentive announced next week. Let's face it, the normal depreciation from one model year to the next is bad enough, but if you add in a new engine being offered in the new year as well, who is going to want to buy the current year if prices are not a good spread apart?
