Default Got tired of waiting!

After owning 16 vettes in my life & losing my butt on everyone & tired of waiting on another Z06 that will depreciate like a rock & my reluctance to be shaken down by some greedy dealer. I bought a used 03 turbo Porsche.
with 10k miles.Never been happier. $70 some grand for a Chevrolet is just too hard to swallow. This made my decision a no brain-er. Soon I will have my 03 lo miles anniversary coupe for sale. GM can now follow ford down the toilet for all I care.I have done my part in the past to support the american car industry. Thanks GM for the kick in the nut's

Good luck with your service and repair bills.

Your mistake buddy.

A C6 coupe can hang with the Porsche TT for a HELL of a lot less and is a better choice in my opinion.
Especially at around $40k.

If you wanted Porsche GT performance,
you should have bought a C6 coupe for under $40k and just added a $7,000 TWIN TURBO to it.
A TT coupe will put 600/600 to the wheels and expose your German car for the snobby and pathetic performing car that it is.

I will concede that the AWD is a nice option for poor climates.
But AWD is the ONLY reason I would buy a P car.

Good luck with it.
Make sure you get rid of it before the warranty is up.

congrats on the Porsche, they build a fine automobile....just curious, how much was it new and what did you pay for it now that its 4 years old? just wondering how much rock falling the original owner lost his or her butt over...

Porsche turbos depreciate far greater. I've seen some $30k-$40k drops in one single year. My friend experienced that back in 2005 after buying a brand new turbo.

OK riddle me this! I paid 45k for my Anniversary car, Two years ago used, The owner before me probably paid a premium of say 54k I also studied what 01 turbo's were going for then.Quess what ! that 01 is still worth the same money now as it was then.Tell me what my vette with 7 K miles is now worth. The market is flooded with them,Hell whats unique about a vette anymore. sure they are great cars & I would of loved to have justified getting raped on a Z06, But stepping up to that kind of money.I want to know that in a couple of years when I go to sell I'm not going to lose 40 cents on a dollar.Yes the vette is as fast or faster,There's more to life than that & with today's traffic in my area especially I would love to be able to enjoy the power but the reality is it's hard to haul ass in a traffic jam.The Porsche is a tiptronic, Later for shifting, that was also a determining factor,The Z doesn't offer an auto. Call me a pussy but I haven't met anyone that can out shift an auto.500 H.P.with a six speed ,good luck! I had a blown 01Z it was great for burning rubber but other wise totally useless & changing blower belts all the time got old. I like the looks of the Porsche also. The C-6 with the chopped off tail & front end that's looks like it's smiling is stupid. I think the C-5 is more attractive. Why the hell would I want to go backwards. But what really did me in was the dealer mentality about soaking 5-10k over MSRP for a chevrolet & thats in addition to GM jacking up the price by 5 grand over an 06.Brilliant sales strategy for a sinking ship. I paid my dues to GM & it was time for a change anyway. I posted this knowing full well of the criticism & welcome. My only hope is that some GM bean counter reads this. After 16 vettes they lost a loyal customer. Will I ever buy another vette maybe,There's plenty of room at the bottom & going backwards is always easier any way.

In my way of thinking. Anyone who pays over MSRP for a chevy that has the resale value of a sperm is an idiot.

I hear ya.

First of all,
you will not find a car that holds it's value better by percentage than a Corvette that is bought RIGHT in the first place.
I challenge you and anyone else to argue that fact.

I agree that when compared to the coupe,
the ZO6 is way overpriced.
But,
when you compare the ZO6 to the other "supercars" that it runs neck and neck with, it is a BARGAIN.

I'm sorry you had a previouly bad experience with forced induction.
I've been there with FI issues.
But,
I believe ECS and A&A have overcome the issues you dealt with on your centrifugal setup.

Bottom line,
a modern TT installed by a forum tuner on a C6 will give you all the performance and reliability you will ever need.

Even STOCK,
the C6 coupe with the paddel shifted A6 is a better buy and will outperform the Porshce.
Especially as a daily driver.
Definitely for the money.

I vote for a TT C6.
But,
I think one should try to find/make a deal on a ZO6 before buying a P car.

Thanks! No problem I extended the warrenty.Tell me vettes are cheap to fix? At least after three years it's not falling apart, squeaking or rattling.Besides I don't really disdain corvettes or their owners I still am one. I'm just pissed how I was repeatedly treated trying to buy a Z06. I think I did this out of spite & decided to vote with my wallet.

I LOVE CORVETTES!!!!
That said, in the past 6 years I have owned a 1966, 2-1967s, a 1978 Pace Car, a 1990 ZR1, a 1993 Ruby ZR1, a 1999 vert, a 2000 coupe, a 2001 coupe and a 2003 50th vert..
I tried to do as much research when buying each of these, took my time, looked at a lot of cars and have made a profit on each car I have sold. Obviously I did not buy any of these new.
To me, patience is critical when buying rather than the "just have to have it" mentality. This works for me but I know not everyone thinks this way.
I don't think it makes much difference if you purchase a Corvette, a Porshce, a Viper or any other "toy"!! Buying it right and selling it right makes these transactions worth while and very enjoyable.

There is nothing avaliable that even comes close to the z06 when you take price into consideration. Now, if money is no issue that go Ferrari, Lambo, or the P car. They all play on the same level.

What I would like to know is why are so many ZO6's seem to be for sale soon after they are bought? Could it be that reality doesn't meet expectations? I have owned an 01 & 04 Z06 & I didn't keep them for very long. To me they would seem more at home at some place like willow springs. If the C-6 is anything like that I can understand people dumping them. I have never driven one & only speculating, I owned two Ferrari's at different times in the mid 80's & both were junk. To me the most interesting vette ever made is the ZR-1. A great car for it's time.

I had a 911 years back while in Germany and it was nice but the upkeep was very expensive. Both the Corvette and Proshce are very nice so enjoy the Porsche
