Wow, I knew the market was soft but dealers are now advertising it. In a Hemmings ad - leftover 06's at invoice and you can order an 07's at invoice + $500. I know these deals are available with a little bargaining but to see it in print for everyone
We are currently offering $4,500 off MSRP on 3LT coupes (over 30 in stock) and $5,500 off MSRP on 3LT verts (over 20 in stock). We collect sales tax, DMV fees and $139 Doc Fee. This sales runs through this Saturday, 7/8/06!

Question: If I buy a car from your dealership, at the type of prices here and on your web-site, can I get NCM delivery. (of course I would pay for that option)
Let me know if you have any 2006 1LT (6spd) coupes for $39,900 in red or blue....if so PM me/email me your contact info TODAY! The best I have found from a supporting dealer on here is $40,980 for a '06 2LT model in blue.
Hell, Hallman Chevy, here in Erie, PA is advertising 5k of list price of in stock Vettes.
On the other hand he sold a Z06 to some guy with more money then brains for 12k above MSRP !
Go figure.
Dan
Not hard to figure. Supply and demand.
Over 34,000 corvettes. Only about 6200 Zo6's.
I went to a Ford dealer with a friend of mine on Monday. They had 6 Shelby's coming in and they were all sold at $10,000 over MSRP.
Sad part is, some people who paid $58,000 for their new Corvettes are having a hard time selling them. If a new one can be purchased for $46,000 - $50,000 now, then a used one needs to be down low in the 40's at best (in my opinion). It would be hard to take an $18,000 hit on a car you've had for 8 months. Nevertheless, that is the market right now. Why would a buyer pay $48k for a used one when the new ones are $46k? O.k., they may have different options, but I don't think you ever get your money back when you buy $10k of options on a new car.
I have talked with a couple of the forum dealers about buying a new Corvette, and they are fantastic, by the way.

This is why so many of us will never pay the sticker price for any car!
last time I talked to a dealer (few months ago) in the L.A. area, the best they seemed willing to do was m.s.r.p. However, just this past week I saw an ad in the paper for a dealer offering 5k off sticker on all in stock 06's. What got my attention was that the pictured showed a Z06, but there was nothing that said "excludes Z06". I'm sure they wont do a 5k break on a Z- They probably don't have any in stock anyways...
The effects of the current mess in the middle east is likely not to be a positive for Corvette sales. There are allready some huge discounts on the yet to be delivered 07s. Factory incentives on the 06s may be a reality soon.
