so thats just great... why does the dealership care if the car is sold to a local buyer or someone like me who is 800 miles away??? If I ever travel through Austin and have a problem, would they refuse to perform warranty work on my car since I don't live within 20 miles???

Probably has to do with not wanting to deal with someone out of state because of paperwork and it may look bad on the dealers allocations.

Well its simple they want repeat business. They have been offered several thousand over sticker from dealerships all over the country. I think its great someone is looking after their customers other than just making a buck.

that may be a good gesture on their part, but they are more likely unknowingly giving a local the chance to turn the car for a profit.
