Default Who to talk to at dealership about allocation, GMID etc..CA local

Hi,
I'm ready to call, email, fax etc.... some local dealers for 06 vert, is there a best approach or person to talk to at the dealership to get the best price, truth about allocation etc....?

I'm in Sacramento CA, if anyone has had good or bad experences with dealers or service here, please let me know.

Thanks, Greg

Greg, the dealers I have talked to in So. Cal are not in any hurry to sell any of the cars they have in stock. I was told by one dealer that as soon as the warmer weather hits these will sell like hotcakes. I'm 62 years old and driving a new Lexus but I guess that didn't impress them. I was able to get a very nice Corvette promotional in a simulated carbon fibre album complete with DVD. That was almost as bad as pulling teeth to get that. From what I've seen you almost cannot beat the forum dealer prices. Call me old fashion but I kind of like seeing and test driving before I sign the check. Good luck in you endeaver. I'll follow this thread and see if you come up with any good dealers that will actually "deal".

Default Go with a forum dealer!!!!!

Greg

I too went through the same in the last few weeks in Calif. From the big Vette dealer in your area, to the bay and south, everyone talked MSRP, if they would even talk. I went ahead and ordered from a forum supporting dealer. The same dealer that would not sell a contvertible for less than MSRP is now going to do my courtesy delivery for $200. I do understand that he will sell his allocations when he gets them and make $$$, and he understands i was looking for the best price. So he will get my $200 and that is it and a forum dealer sells another that all it had to do was order and put "California" in as destination.

All the forum dealers came pretty close, some sharpened their pencils more than others.

Good luck and email if you have any questions.

I want to give something back for all that I have learned from this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called around the bay area and no one budged on their price...I called a dealership in claremont, ca and asked for the Sales Manager....told them how much I wanted to pay and asked if he can do that...said yes and next day I flew down, pucked up my car and drove it back up.

It is best to do some research, know what you what as in color and options, determine a price that you want and stick to it.

Good luck....or if you dont want to call around, go to a forum vendor, look at their specials and inventory.... no hassles.

Default Went with a forum dealer today, too easy everyone should

Thanks everyone for your replys.

I ordered one today to be built for me, from Rick Daniel at Les Sanford. That was the best 10 min. I ever spent on the phone, wasn't even a 900 number
Let see, KKKKKKKK divided by 10 min. my hourly rate just jumped through the roof
Seriously Rick Daniel is D'man, even accepted my GMID which I thank all here for posting how anyone can easily get one. I did find a local dealer to take a courtesy delivery.

This forum and everyone here, supporting dealers included ROCK!!!!!

Thanks Again
