Is this someone's old car?
My brother is considering buying this Zr1. Trying to get some info on it. It's at AutoAmerica in Grand Prairie, TX. The link to the car ishttp://www.autoamerica.com/web/used/...exas/15204399/
Is has headers and Akrapovic exhaust and sounds like it is cammed. Any information is greatly appreciated.

It has a lingenfelter kit on it. I can see the snout and intake which means it has a pulley too. Probably the 710 kit

I would be very careful buying a car in Texas. From what I understand there laws don't have to clarify record of salvage titles, not 100% on that but just what I found when looking for my car. You need someone to look for prior repair to that vehicle before you buy. Good luck

I would spend a little more money and get a lower mileage car, or get more info on who owned this car and how much pounding it took before it found the lot....

i too looked at this car.
it definitely has the snout, as well as kooks headers and a crank pulley. my friend noticed the heads have been studded. it for sure has a cam. car sounded very mean. the akrapovic looked great.
car looked amazing and was thinking about it may be a good deal for what all it had and may have done.
had some people in the know tell me that it may be a bad deal for what shop worked on it. also i was told it may have been slammed hard into a curb. the car has been traded in twice there per the manager. bummer too because i was in to this one. it looked good even dirty as it was.
i did not drive it, just turned it on and visually inspected it. i like many am waiting for the zo6 and or what it may do to the market. i will pass on the z if i can find a zr1 that i love.
i lurk here and signed up to share about this car.
carry on.

just to clarify, the shop i was informed that may have had done some work to the car was not the one mentioned in this thread, lmr.
it might be a game changer if it is truly an lmr car. it would already be in my garage if it was a dallas performance car.

Cars like this a lot of times get bought very cheap at auctions.
Because it's not something that can sit and be sold on a regular dealer lot..
So when it comes up at a dealer auction, no one buys it unless it's terribly cheap, or they plan to drive it personally or get it for family or a friend..
Just putting that out there, because people normally don't understand how a car in actual good shape can go for so cheap compared to what others ask.
Just like some c6z cars getting bought and sold in the 20k range at deal auctions. When most guys on the forum asking same price for 10 year old c5z cars

Is the owner that put all the work into the car on this forum?

Melting Slicks
i'm confused, are you saying that you would not want it if LMR built it but if Dallas performance did then you would want it?

i have no information on the owner(s). there have been a few cyber gray zr1s that have gone through auto america. one of them being the problem car i was warned about that had been curbed, along with other issues. without talking to the previous owner, it is all just a guess and a gamble if the car is legit and a good buy.
further clarification. if it is an unmolested lmr car, i would seriously consider buying it. and i still am, just need more information.
i apologize for the confusion.
