Default 2012+ seats

So are the 2012 seats in the ZR1 that much better than what I have in my 09? I haven't sat in a 2012 car yet. Would it be worth the upgrade if the price was right on a set of 2012's?

I have been wondering the same thing. I see kits for sale to upgrade the seats to the 2012's. Was wondering if it was a worthwhile purchase.

They look better and are more comfortable. I don't think they are functionally better for track days, etc. I've waffled on this several times, never got to where I was ready to spend the coin.

They look a ton nicer, the 2012 seats I've sat in were more comfortable as well. Where is a link to the swap setup? Is AC seat like my CTS-V has an option?

Yes, my ***** get hot.

This what I found. Don't know if it's the right thing to do. My stock seats suck. I want my viper seats back. Lol

lol thats exactly what I tell people. My Viper seats rocked, these Vette seats are a joke. 3ZR = big waste of money for me.

looks like no AC just heated if you have that option.

$1779.00 for what I'd want.....might have to just be satisfied with my 09's!

I would be okay spending $1800 if the seats are that much better. I guess I need to find a newer ZR and check them out.

I had a Grand Sport with the same seats you have in your 09, I really like the seats in my 12 ZR1 much better.

Had quite literally a back to back extended road test. Drove about 700 miles to trade in the grand sport & the same back in the ZR1.

To me the $1800 or so for a conversion would be worth it.

HTH, Cheers,
Rob

when i did spring mountain, they used '12 and up cars. I have an '11, and i track it once in a while. other than esthetics, they don't hold you any better and to me the comfort level was the same. Not worth the upgrade to the later seats.

Your opinion, not mine.

Besides the newer seats have a better look than that of 4 pair of undies

Cheers

A set of Daytona's are on my to do list, but the last price I got from John was $6300 with Carbon fiber back & ZR1 headrest stitching, so not just a little more !!

Works out to about 14 pair of underwear instead I guess

We sell them in the various GM available ZR1 finishes and colors. The kits can range anywhere from $1300 to $1600 or so. We supply most of the kits to most of the vendors.
