Sounds like a glaze being built up from light braking honestly, just like the noise that can occur from excessively slipping a more aggressive friction material clutch and not deglazing it. Easiest fix is to brake later and harder...I understand you can't always pull -1g on the street, but she's a high performance machine and you have to give her what she wants from time to time otherwise she gets fussy...hope that helps ya Ron.

Also I know it's meant for the road course, but curious if you've taken the Z07 to the 1/4 given your results with previous Z06s as I'd like to see your results with launching the mag ride. Might help with the squealing being that you'll have to get on the brakes hard for the shutdown

I think you're right!

I've had her on the road course a couple of times thus far, but no 1/4 time yet. I have no wheels/Drag radials that fit any longer. I haven't had the time or the urge (yet) to go drag her, but I will likely one day.
I don't know that the mag control will help. In sport it's too tight I think to allow the car to squat back onto the rear. Launching in tour mode and then switching to sport may help, but IDK. What do you think?

Since I believe you have the fastest 60' with a stock C6Z I was curious to see if the mag ride would allow the front wheels to come off the ground like in the ZR1, not sure that will equate to a faster 60' though.

Maybe in the fall I'll give it a go.

I just wanted to give an update to this thread.

Well the light sanding I did only helped for a week or so.
Going to the track helped also for a week or 2.
The squeak is back under slow, light braking. I guess I'll just turn the radio a little louder and not pay any attention to it any more. lol

My 07 z06 use to squeek like crazy when coming to a slow top.My 2011 zr1 never squeeks but has very little mileage.

Dr. Ron,

Come on, man! Do it and post the results on the C6 Z06 section. Give me a heads up and I'll cheer ya on.

After a track day, the squeaking is gone, but it eventually returns.
