Default MAST heads

Is anyone here running MAST heads? I don't see an actual ls9 head from them but have heard some ls9 guys using them. Im wondering what they did to use them and if they feel they are better than having WCCH work over the stock heads. I sent MAST an email but no response yet. Any input is appreciated.

Redline Motorsports just did a ZR1 with Mast heads.

Watch for this build in a future issue of GM High Tech Performance Magazine on a nasty ZR1 build! Mast Motorsports cylinder heads, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering intake system, American Racing Headers 2" headers and more!

You can read about it and see pictures on their facebook page.

I have LS9 heads cnc'd and fully done by PRC

Thank you for the post. Unless I'm missing something I just see the pic of the exhaust valves. I wonder if they used ls3 heads and drilled them for the ls9 bolts. I'm trying to weigh out if it's worthwhile to buy those heads and sell mine or just get mine ported. It's nice to not have to take my car apart and wait weeks while I send them out.

KP Racing used MAST heads for RCC's ZR1 build. I believe he made a post recently with the info in it.

We use quite a few of the MAST heads in our builds....we make great power with them and they are a seriously strong casting. Many of our builds use the 6 bolt block configuration which all the MAST heads are setup for.

We just finished a pump gas ZR1 build with the 285cc head and made great power across the curve as expected.

Please feel free to e mail me direct if you have any specific questions or interested in purchased as we a MAST dealer.

Thank You

Howard

I'm not sure what that link was provided based upon your questions as that was just a set of Inconnel valves for a MAST set of heads we are preparing..

The MAST head you need is based off there LS3 intake port. The stock bolts will still work but the washers on the stock bolts will need to be ground down or replaced as they will bind in the head. You also will need a custom set of pushrods as the lifter to rocker dimensions is taller due to the taller port design.

I'd also recommend a set of the ACCEL spark plug wires with the ceramic ends as the stock wires will be stretched to make it to the plugs and can come off while driving..

You also need to knock out the steel dowel in the supercharger manifold mating surface as there is no provision in the MAST head.

I appreciate the replies during your travels. With ARP bolts do the washers work correctly? Do I use my stock rockers with these heads? Im looking forward to a quote when you get back into the office.

Redline, would you say the Mast heads offer more flow / power potential than ported stock heads?

Absolutely...plus they are much better in keeping the heads on the block.
