If you make enough power whats wrong with a 28" tire? More roll out and contact, I've had great luck.
Also is the 345/35/18 MT not an option? Very good tire and a little shorter.

ive heard great things about the m&h, my friend id running that tire on his c5z single turbo 5.3 making 850 and he hooks up in second when they are warm. they are a tall tire tho.
+2 on what solow1k said about going with the 345 35 18 MT.
You could also go with the hoosier but theyre road manors are not the best ive been told but theyre barely shorter than oem. (ill have some feedback on these shortly as they are what im going to run)

All options are considered. But I'm favoring more sidewall in my next setup. More sidewall more grip.
345/35/18 I hear is a great tire. But I hear the 325/40/18 hooks big time...

I've put down 1100ish really well on my 325/45/17 M&H's. Big fan of that company. Great product and customer service.

The ZR1 has a really tall 1st gear which makes launching more difficult especially if you have an aftermarket clutch to hold an increase in power that engages more aggressively. So I'd run a shorter overall tire, since you're already decreasing the rim size "frc" 8 sec pass with a 1.4x 60' was on a 335/35r17 Hoosier and another member has been 1.4s on a 335/30r18 Hoosier in a C6Z(which is what I'd recommend for your case at the strip) though not sure of your exact setup, but hope that helps.

The results. CCW 18x12 w/ 345/35/18 M&H. Exactly 28" tall with 30+ psi. Fronts are John @ CCW special 18x8.5 w/ 225/45/18. We discussed everything I planned on doing with the car. He was very helpful and put together this "zr1 street racer" setup, he's a funny guy.

I had this same set up on my other Z....
My car had to be at stock height... Tires gripped awesome when heated up..
They did rub the rear brake duct when car squatted.
Alittle street action with tires

As long as you keep the percentage from front to back within it's range it should be fine?

I have the 345/18
Mickey Thompson and they have never caused any issues. Hook like crazy. I don't even do a burn out, just dust them off and they are good to go. Only made about 5 passes, but all of them were dead hook with no major burnout.
