Resale may not take a hit!
I see where we may have a gauge to look at!
With a Supercharged C7 making 572 to the tires.
Then running a 128 best trap. The Z06 looks to be at LEAST 125
pounds heavier likely more and not have 572 to the rear tire.
Looks to me like the ZR1 will still be quicker in a straight line.

People mostly buy the latest greatest thing.. As with any high end depreciating asset the hit one takes is simply part of the game, just drive what you buy and don't even think about the value until your ready to get the next one, it's not the stock market it's a sports car, who cares what it's worth unless your trying to buy one.

There will be a niche-group of sports car enthusiasts who want a C6 ZR1, with about 4,600 produced.
If the size of that niche group expands, demand should help to slow the rate of price decline, or possibly even stabilize prices.
If the size of the same niche group contracts, prices will reflect lesser demand.
Eventually the age of the cars, the cost of repairs, and the availability of parts will also be a factor, likely negative at some point.
IMO, don't expect what is happening with the prices of well-preserved/restored C2s, or early C3s, to apply to the C6 ZR1.
It's a great car and many of us love it, but it's not an investment during our lifetimes, if at all.
Drive it while ya' got it !

The only thing that can depreciate the great C6 ZR1 is age. However let's not jump to conclusion, because we don't know how strong/fast the C7 Z06 yet. Not sure about the weight, the price, lap times(although supposedly it is quicker than the C6 ZR1), quarter mile time..all only speculations so far.

That being said, I would purchase a ZR1 before the new Z06 only because I am biased towards the C6 design, as well as what the ZR1 has meant to the C6 line all these years. But, maybe I'm the sensitive type.

I think that resale would take a hit. But, not because the ZR1 is a such a lesser car, or a slower car, in any respect. I think it will be because of the totality of what the new Z06 will be; the whole car, not just one specific speed metric.

Only ones that I see taking a hit so to speak are the 2012 and 2013's
directly priced. The 2009-2011 are priced less than the Z06 already.

why do you always start these threads comparing a zr1's resale price to a car that's not even out yet, you are simply guessing? didn't you just buy your ZR1 anyway now all you talk about is resale value...

Keep believing - searching and reading your threads tells me there's alot of confusion in your mind
It's a car, it will depreciate

I learned many years ago that when it comes to the car I own, that there will always be another one that is newer and better, and there will always be one faster. I am cool with that. I am thoroughly enjoying my ZR1 while realizing this fact.

I agree I think it's going to be a lot closer race in a strait line between the ZR1 and C7 Z06 and yes I think the ZR1 just might come out on top in that type of race heck some people on here had the ZR1 in the low 10's on stock tires and I believe around the 133mph mark that's not going to be easy to top with a stock C7 Z06 IMO..

There will always be something developed that is newer, faster, handle better. If you bought a ZR1 worried about resale you will never be happy.
Just drive it like you stole it!! (Carefully though)
