I agree 625hp is no slouch but was really hoping for around 650 to 700hp..only time will tell but if that happens I'll be holding on to my ZR1.

Time will tell!!! Can't wait though. Im hoping it will look better widebody, because right now it don't! Honestly, I can't see GM unveil a less powerful than a C6 ZR1 HI-PO version of the C7. Don't make sense, and i'm pretty sure we wont see ZR1 in C7, but once again, we never know!!

Guys he said Z06. The ZO6 is likely to have a supercharged V8

The ZR1? I'm thinking 700hp twin turbo. Yes, I will be getting one to replace my '10 ZR1.

Make no mistake about it, with the better handling dynamics of the C7 generation, a 625hp C7 ZO6 (if produced) will beat a C6ZR1 around a track. The C6ZR1 may best it in a straight line, but that will be about it.

I, for one, would prefer any ZO6 to have a naturally aspirated V8. There is just something unnatural about a supercharged ZO6...sort of like the Porsche 991 GT3 only being available only with a PDK transmission. Call me a traditionalist I guess....

The question is: what will they do to put the power to the ground with a 700 HP TT RWD car? That question has to be answered first as the limits of traction are being hit with the current architecture.

I really doubt that GM would take the Z06 from 505 to 625 hp, that's a huge jump. Well I sure missed this one! Sounds like it'll be another beast.

Keep in mind that 648hp wasn't a mechanical limit. I believe it was an insurability limit. If so, you likely won't see any 700hp options.
Perhaps 575-590hp NA Z06 and another 650hp (turbo) ZR1??????

I don't think they will bother with turbos unfortunately, since they have a proven combination with 6, 2 blown! I'm hoping i'm wrong though!

I agree, but CAFE standards are making that nearly impossible in new cars.

Look at Indy cars if you want to see the (unfortunate) future. Be thankful the Vettes are still V8's.

Turbos on the CTS-V make it any easy transition to the ZR1

I've heard they are testing twin turbos.

Whether they make or not remains to be scene.

Looking forward to Jan.

I expect that variant to be a supercharged 6.2

Whether they do a higher model than that down the road with twins - who knows, will be interesting to see, and I bet team vette doesn't even know the answer to that yet.
