Default How is your front splitter holding up?

I thought about a poll, but I would really like to hear your thoughts if you own a ZR1. Have you had any problems? How do you deal with it? How many times have you replaced it, and how many miles on the car?

I really want a ZR1 in a couple of years, and I guess I could remove the splitter, but I'm just curious whether you owners are breaking them. I'm scraping my 2006 convertible a little each time I exit my driveway. It is stock height. It is not hurting anything, but a ZR1 with the splitter might be a different matter.

One minor scratch on the bottom side of my 2010. You would have to get on the ground and look under the splitter to see it and that ain't easy to do. If your worried just buy an aftermarket fiber glass piece and use it and save the real one. I actually have one of those here I bought 2 years ago and have yet ever got around to putting it on. One must drive a little careful to keep their splitter in good shape.

2010 with 18K and lots and lots of scraping but no cracks or visible damage. I am very careful when head in parking to curbs or parking blocks.

welllllllllllll thanks to the $^%^&%&^*&^& moron who ran me off the road on my bday The mod is a big hit

About 12K on the car, splitter has never been a problem, I never pull it in near curbs. Its been to the track a few times and survived
Curbed the GS a lot But its a cheaper fix. Don't let that stop you from getting the BEAST

Mine has survived 3,700 terror filled miles. I am constantly worried about bashing my splitter. It is not just those nasty curbs, but road trash like dead raccoons in the middle of the road. With traffic in the opposite lane one cannot always dodge road debris.

Perhaps my obsessing about it make me more alert to dangerous situations and less likely to damage it, who knows.

Thanks for the info. I guess it is not as much of a problem as I thought. I always back in anyway, so curbs should not be much of a problem. I'm more worried about speed bumps and getting in and out of the driveway.

I've got a little over 10k miles behind the wheel of a ZR1 between my 2009 and my 2011 and have not damaged either one, but I still feel that the splitter is on borrowed time. One of these days the driveway at my girlfriend's house is gonna do it when I don't get the approach angle just right pulling over the curb. It's only a matter of time.

Spring time we'll come over. You had mentioned you wanted to put a pulley on it's like a whole new car. Sixth gear was much better than my ZO6 now it's awesome.

I'm considering it and hearing you say that is making it more likely to happen What all did you do other than a pulley ?

9K mi's on mine in a bit under three yrs...likely scratches on the underside but no real visible damage.
I try to be careful, but I do think about it whenever I'm parking.

I'm sure one day something (or me !) will damage it...as said above, angling steep drives is an art.
