Halltech Official Carbon Revolution Wheel Distributor
After meeting with the folks at Carbon Revolution yesterday, we are now officially the USA distributor for the new CR-9 Corvette one piece carbon fiber wheels.
I am still in California, but more details will be forthcoming about this exciting new product line, that will lighten the Corvette unsprung weight by as much as 60lbs (depending on the tire size). Sizes are 19" only at this time. Wheel sizes are 8.5X19" fronts and 12X19" rears.
Testing at Buttonwillow Raceway showed a 1.3 second lap time improvement just switching from alum. wheels to the new CR-9s with the exact same Pilot SCs on Porsche GT3 used in the testing.
We have OZ Ultraleggera wheels and Pilots onboard our ULZ700 and will shed over 50 lbs with these wheels.
Halltech will have these wheels onboard our ULZ700 3.9 in May and will have them at many upcoming events.
More details later. Special initial pricing available. email jim@halltechsystems.com for pricing.

Man...those are exciting wheels. Just wish they had more than one look. Have any picks of these on a ZO6?

With M PSS, the best front tire fitment would be a 255/35-19, which has 0.8" less front tread than the stock size PSS front tire.

I know these are out of my price range, but it is strange that the fronts are C6 width and the rears are Z06/GS/ZR1 width. With appropriate size tires for road circuit work, I would think the Z06 would have heavy understeer.

We are going to try to fit these wheels on the C7 this week.

You indicated the rim was much quicker on a road circuit though, which raises the question on front grip. The road course numbers for the wheels were on a Porsche rather than a Z06, but that won't translate well for going 2-3 sizes smaller on a Z06.
While picking on this issue, I really appreciate your input to this forum, Jim.

@ 20K for the wheels with hardly any tire choices... doesn't seem worth it... I hate to be so synacial but regardless of unsprung weight the dollar isn't worth it. but they look cool..
