Did Ford tell you:
in 1982 when the Mustang GT with 157 hp, tell you that in 1985 is was going to have 210 hp and roller cam, or the 2007 shelby was going to run for 7 years plus from what was supposed to be a 2/maybe 3 year production car..... go from 500 hp to 540 in 2010, then **** people off in 2011 with an alum. block and 550hp ?? or that we'll **** every one off in 2013 with 662 hp ?? did they , well ??? huh ??
Ya......Damn Ford too, they're all the same.

I do. But there are certain things I don't like about it like refinements. For under 100k nothing is better but I am in a better position now than I was before so I could swing the zr1. Plus when I bought the shelby I didn't know corvettes are being discounted 20k.

It sounds (to me) like you are chasing an intangible factor of "value" i.e., net new car price after discount vs performance vs refinements. IMO, this is a very difficult equation to solve, and the variables are always changing...
Before you sell/trade your brand new car, suggest you locate some used, good condition ZR1s and Z06s
and test-drive them. Suspect it will be easier to do that than getting a test drive in a new one.
That way you'll have a better impression of all three cars to assist your decision...

I have the 13 GT500 and a 2010 ZR1. If you are only going to be the streets, no track time. I would stick with the GT500. Both cars have more power than can essentially be used on the street anyway.
You seem to be searching for a missing intangible value as stated by another poster. But both cars do have a lot of intangibles that people love. Both cars draw a lot attention and frequently people take pictures of both cars out on the street. But how do you define those intangibles? I don't know.
I personally prefer to drive the GT500 around town. Better seats, navigation, stereo and a trunk. It is a torque monster and feels very lively around town.
On the highway, I prefer the ZR1. Where at speed, it feels much more responsive than the GT500 due to better gearing, lower weight and more efficient aero.
But those feelings are intangibles to me and my seat of the pants feel. To you, those could be different or even totally opposite.

Does the zr1 have the same sync thing that ford has? As in if I touch a button to wirelessly call someone or give my a car a command to change the radio or call someone back will it do that?
Essentially my intangible value is in the current shortcomings of the corvette that are all fixed with the c7. But if I were to wait down the road for that new c7 z whatever, instead of paying say a 40k difference I'll be paying 70 or 80k. 40k is very easy and managble but twice that is a tough decision to go in debt for especially over a depreciating car.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the 3rd gen MSRC was announced as being available with the C7 (optional,
also requiring the Z51 package). Thought I saw this somewhere in the C7 threads ...
EDIT: discussed briefly here by talon90: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1583031976-post5.html

Alright so I have decided on what I am going to do. I will wait for a c7 zr1 or zo6 since now we apparently have whispers, rumors, confirmation, w/e you want to call it that they will both be produced. But regardless the zr1 current price is still too high. If later down the road they come down more closer to low 100s I'll buy it, but if not then I have other priorties that are more deserving than a super nice car when I already have a really nice car.
I think the c7 would be better for me because I like the placement of the shifter more in that car. The shifter placement in the current c6 felt very weird to me compared to how my shelby is. I also didn't like how I have to move it down diagonally to the left to get it into first, and I can't just go straight left and up. That was really annoying and the pedals felt werid too.
I think for the c7 they said the pedals will be mounted to the floor for better position I believe? I think it is more worth it for me to wait for the c7, especially since the interior already looks good I may not have to send it to John for an upgrade, I could just settle with the small things, steering wheel, shifter, seats, console, etc.... basically the things I don't have to send away my car for.
Thanks for the help guys.

Unless you are a tech junkie I see nothing wrong with the current ZR1 or Z06/Z07. I have a 2012 z06 and wanted a z07 I'm retired and that sucks not much money coming in. A ZR1 is also my desire but again it's money. The c7 has a last model run c4 layout in the interior and a whole lot of gadgets that don't appear to add horsepower for this getup go person.
Who knows they may get more power in the coming years we will see.BUY the ZR now sweat the unknown later.
