Does anyone know which of the C6 ZR1's is the best year? Least problems and best performance, etc. Also, what should I look for when buying one other than the obvious stuff... thanks!
Having a 2010 and having the transmission replaced with the newer transmission with the carbon fiber gears, I would suggest whatever year they made that change. Huge difference in shifting IMO.
I found a 2010 in PA for sale with a branded title... apparently GM bought the car back because it was a lemon... they replace a throttle body and an ECM due to loss of power and vibration, etc... I want to stay clear of any years with issues... hopefully I'll find one with the warranty remaining :-)
I have a 2012. I am not certain of all the changes over the 2009-2013 run, but as I understand 1. the tranny gearing changed (and GM bumped the highway EPA estimates up 1 mpg as a result) and 2. the seat design changed in 2012. I like the newer seats.
Nahh..2010's are the fastest..especially the RED ones..lol
I have to agree with you except that I am sure that I "read somewhere" or that "someone told me" that the Blade Silver paint is significantly lighter than all of the other paint colors thus knocking a tenth or two off the quarter mile times.
don't the 2010's + have the PTM/Launch control stuff ??? 2009's don't correct? I'd buy the 2010/11 for that reason and being a 2nd year car or 3rd vs the 1st year made.......but that's me.

correct...PTM was introduced with the 2010 model.
But I agree with Fartpipe above: 2009--2013 !

I read the same thing. Blade Silver 2010 the fastest lightest and I am sure they will hold their value better too!

all right.... so, just to stir things up a bit... LOL ... I can get a new Shelby GT500 for less than a used ZR1 and be pretty much as fast in a straight line... all joking aside... pros and cons?

See you've been led to believe that but the fact is RED paint has less pigment in it so therefore is lighter than blade silver..which makes it faster!!!...
